We had a wonderful time carolling in Diamond Creek and Hurstbridge yesterday. A big thank you to The Vines Cafe and The Little Speckled Hen, who both welcomed us to perform in their stores. ❤️

We're switching into Christmas mode, ready for some upcoming carolling!

It's nearly carolling season, so we're back in the rehearsal room this week, preparing for some upcoming roving in the main streets of north-east Melbourne. Yes, we're bringing our black, red and gold to the green wedge!
On Saturday, November 15, you can catch us in Research at 10am, and in Eltham from noon til 2pm.
Then two weeks later, we'll be in Diamond Creek from 10am and Hurstbridge from 12:30pm, on Saturday, November 29th.
Our last performance for the year will be in Watsonia, from 10am on Saturday, December 6th.
Hopefully we'll get to entertain you while you're out enjoying the buzz of festive shopping, socialising, and summer sunshine 🌞

Come sing with us!

We're looking for new singers to join our current quintet, as we aspire to double each part and add new richness to our gorgeous a ca****la arrangements. We sing pop music from a wide range of eras, spanning barbershop classics, mid-century and modern showtunes, right through to contemporary hits. 🎶

Rehearsing fortnightly on Sunday evenings in Montmorency, we're all about enjoying singing together in a low-stress, high-skill environment. And whenever we feel like it, we find opportunities to show off, so you may have seen us roving in Eltham over the long weekend, or around Montmorency during carolling season!

A delightful weekend of carolling wrapped up our wonderful 2024! Five of us took to Were St Montmorency on Saturday lunchtime to support the Eltham Lions Club in their annual Christmas cake sale efforts, and then to The Snow House Monty Christmas Lights tonight (Sunday) to help raise funds for The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. 🎄🧑‍🎄🎄

Are you someone who loved singing with a ca****la groups in high school or uni, but life has taken you away from the rehearsal room of late? Are you hungry to gather up with like-minded folk to sing and socialise with? Maybe work toward a fun performance for family and friends, and other local gig opportunities?

Then come and sing with The Poppies!

We're an auditioned a ca****la group, typically with one person per part, but in this changed world having two people per part just seems sensible, right? So we're looking to rebuild and extend our team.

We rehearse in Montmorency every second Sunday, at the home of our MD, Jessica. Our goal is to have fun singing together, keeping our voices strong and our harmonies tight.

Our repertoire is pop-focused, with pieces by Florence + The Machine, Regina Spektor, and Sia, as well as older pop classics by The Beatles, and even jazz standards like Fly Me To The Moon. And just wait until you see our Christmas repertoire...
