BIG MASSIVE ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: THE AMENTA

One of metal's most uncategorizable acts, THE AMENTA have been synthesising the ugliest aspects of death, black, and noise into a unique maelstrom for over 25 years. Well known across the world for their intense live shows, THE AMENTA combine speed, anger, and weird sound with smoke and strobes to create a brutal, overwhelming experience.

We're huge fans of THE AMENTA here and its an incredible honour to have them headline the debut Black Planet line-up. You DO NOT want to miss arguably one of the most engaging bands in this country.

It is with a heavy heart that despite her best efforts and intentions we announce Military Position will be unable to perform for this year's Black Planet. We wish her well and whole heartedly encourage you to check out her music if you haven't already. While the night won't be the same with out her we are pleased to announce that in her place, we welcome to the line-up!

YOUR MOTHERS DISGUSTING WINDOW is misanthropic industrial sludge borne of a deep loathing of the self and others. It is the sound of spiralling, of misery and irreconcilable depression and frustration, an expression of pure resentment towards life and being alive.

ARTIST SPPOTLIGHT: ŽIVA

ŽIVA is the bilingual music project of Croatian-born, Melbourne-based artist Lucija Ivšić, blending darkwave, electronic music, pop, and traditional Croatian singing into intense, up-beat live shows. Often compared to Björk, Boy Harsher, and IC3PEAK, ŽIVA builds her live shows in real time through looping, vocal processing, and multi-instrumental performance. Her 2023 debut album received international acclaim and radio support from SBS, HRT, PBS, 3RRR, 4ZZZ, and Area3000, and earned her the award for The Best Album of the Week by Brisbane's 4ZZZ, and Croatia’s Best Electronic Artist of the Year. Since then, ŽIVA has performed three sold out shows at Dark M**o Festival in 2025 and sold out venues across Victoria and NSW including The Grace Darling Hotel in Melbourne, Trash Cult in Bendigo, SIRCUIT in Lawson NSW, alongside appearances at Melbourne Design Week, and Essence Festival in Canberra in 2025.
Her latest album, ŽIIIVA (2026), received critical acclaim across Australia and Europe, praised by Devils Horns Zine as one of the year’s standout releases and celebrated by major Croatian outlets Glazba.hr and Nacional.hr for its originality and bold sonic identity.
