Finally getting to stage our production of Mamma Mia! the highest ticket sales WMTC has seen, as well as the spectacular success of Sweeney Todd, albeit a shorter season. Preparations are underway for what is shaping up to be a BUSY few days of auditions. The production team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, making sure that their vision for the production of The Boy From Oz is clear, concise, innovative and spectacular, however true to the original and already remarkable concept. "Performing in a space such as the Centenary Theatre has it's limitations, but only if you work against them. Embracing the small and intimate nature of the theatre has been the driving inspiration behind the basic concept of this production - a raw and emotionally charged nostalgic journey in to the life of Peter Allen, where the audience feel like they're being taken on a very personal and intimate ride."

THE BARBER SHOP HAS CLOSED FOR BUSINESS
What an absolute treat it was to bring audiences our production of SWEENEY TODD and even though our season was sadly cut short, we are just brimming with pride from positive reviews and feedback we received on the production. WMTC would like to thank each and every person who attended a performance, we are truly, truly, humbled.

Throughout the season we shared a number of photos from our spectacular production, but must also acknowledge the team that don’t appear in these photos, our 'killer' orchestra and our many company volunteers that create our costumes, build and dress our sets, invent props (if only you knew what those pies and blood were made of), move our sets around the stage, shine lights, and especially keep a rowdy cast in order. WE THANK YOU!

Remaining Performances of Sweeney Todd are cancelled.

Despite robust measures in place, several key members of our company have tested positive for COVID-19. Unfortunately, remaining performances of Sweeney Todd on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November have been cancelled, which will sadly bring our show to a close early.

Affected patrons will receive a full refund and will be contacted via email shortly.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming you back in 2023.

Last week was Volunteer Week and so on Saturday we celebrated Hobsons Bay volunteers at an exclusive performance of Mamma Mia by the Williamstown Musical Theatre Company at the Centenary Theatre. We had over 120 volunteers in attendance from Food Services, VIC, PAG, Community Transport, Libraries, Conservation Friends groups, Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres who loved the performance and the day.

The event was a huge success. Thank you to all staff involved, to the WMTC and all the wonderful volunteers!

A group of talented Williamstown Light Opera Alumni are reuniting for a special one night only extravaganza in Williamstown this month.
