I am so thrilled to be a part of this amazing arts community in Nillumbik. It’s also really wonderful to be a part of this small group of very talented artists that has been invited to put forward works showcasing our leafy, bushy, artsy Nillumbik shire.

Nillumbik Artists Open Studios is really excited to announce a selection of our artists are participating in Gallery 7 six 5's 'Landscapes of Nillumbik' exhibition, beginning this Friday 14th January.
The exhibition, featuring Nerina Lascelles Art, Fionna Madigan Art Studio/Gallery, Michele Owen Art, Tread Sculptures, Linda MacAulay Artist, Red Door Studio and Benny Archer Studio, will thrust visitors into the heart of the Artisan Hills, giving them exclusive access to the inner workings of our artists minds as they reflect their understanding of our beautiful landscape on canvas, reclaimed steel and glass.
The exhibition will run from 14/1 to 13/2 every Friday - Sunday.

Gallery 7 six 5 is housed in an alluring rustic barn that once was an antique workshop, with a wall of glass that looks out to the Redgums that Nillumbik is so known for!
It has a charming, enticing ambience and is a perfect setting for displaying the wide array of artwork that the artisans hills are so known for. A peaceful space set amongst bushland at Watson’s Creek.

I’m so thrilled to have won the logo comp. 🥰😍🙌❤️

6 weeks ago we invited the Artists of Nillumbik and friends to submit their entries for a Logo for the new Eltham Art Show. The Prize was a Gift Voucher from Victorian Artists Supplies for $300.

The response was of an incredibly high standard and overwhelming. I am very pleased to announce that the winner is Jacquie Hacansson. Jacquie's leaves filled our Logo brief and we will now circulated it through our Media outlets so everyone can enjoy its creation.

"Executed in pencil and paint, the logo is an image of two entwined gum leaves evoking a symbol of infinity that lives and breathes. It is a symbol of limitlessness, but at the same time is anchored in a sense of the local by referring to the lovely eucalyptus rich environment of Nillumbik" - Jacquie Hacansson

Red Door is offering a 2 day glass fusion and mosaic workshop where you will learn or hone your skills in design and creativity. We will kiln form glass inclusions in our first day to then focus on building in the either background or foreground space. Your finished panel will leave ready to frame. (Frame included).
It’s great fun and open to all levels of experience. Hurry because it’s a popular one. 🙌🥰

Just completed a fabulously productive two day workshop ❤️🙌 we’ve been kiln forming and mosaicing.
Lots of laughter, hot steamy weather, flooding, swims and great conversations over food. Well done gang. ❤️🥂😝

I have a 2 day workshop coming up this weekend 18/19 January with a few spots still available. You will design a 20 x 20 cm framed panel.
Cut and construct one or two small pieces which will be fired. While they’re cooking, we’ll work on the background. By the end of day two you will have a beautiful framed panel.
$350 includes all materials and lunch.

So I’ve painted little botanical flowers and a lemon on the Japanese Gin bottle and glasses then built them into this glass still life.
I’ve now completed the background. Copper foiling and soldering the panel together is next. 🙌🥰❤️

We are almost at the end of another amazing year at Red Door.
Jenny Stevens exquisitely intricate underwater scene is almost complete... a year in the making, it’s so long I had to take a pano shot, this wonderland is breathtaking. Congratulations Jenny.
Wendy’s beautiful boy Archie is about to be fired... exceptional work, Rest In Peace darling Archie.
Di Tucker’s gorgeous tabletop , Dawn Chorus, has had its grout lines filled and been spit and polished to top it off. Beautiful work as always DiDi.
I’ve also thrown in my latest lamp. 😍
There has been so much more incredible work created in our wonderful space that will make its way to this page so keep posted. Well done gang. 🙌❤️🥂

10-5pm Saturday & Sunday of both weekends.
Lock it in your diaries, start putting money aside, Xmas is almost upon us. Spontaneous acts of shopping are encouraged.

Micky’s Fitness hosted an amazing 10 hour long cycling fundraiser yesterday for the organisation “Love me Love you” which supports teenage depression and their vulnerability to su***de.
Red Door Studio put a small team together to participate. Thank you so much Lyndell, Wendy Ros, Wendy Fox, Linda Cav. You’re awesome. We’ll do it again next year, all welcome to join in. ❤️🙏🏼😍

My fabulous Friday group head off tomorrow to make room for the arrival of my wonderful Wednesday group.
It’s our annual Glass retreat that is a special time away with each group. We all share a common bond, GLASS so our time together is creative on so many levels and extremely productive, but most of all fun. ♥️😍🙏🏼 see you next week beautiful Friday gang. X

Tomorrow I’ll be shaping, grinding and glueing it down. A part of a three panelled external light fitting. 1500x500 mm
