Meet the creative team of RHYTHMIC FICTIONS:

Emma Riches (dancer) is an artist who works across performance, choreographic and teaching practices. She has danced with notable choreographers including Jo Lloyd, Alice Will Caroline, Phillip Adams/Matthew Bird and Victoria Hunt and has presented work at Temperance Hall, Dancehouse, The University of Melbourne and LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore). Emma was recently an artist in residence at Schoolhouse Studios.

Meet the creative team of RHYTHMIC FICTIONS:

Rachel Coulson (dancer) is an independent dance artist based in Melbourne (Naarm). She has performed in works by Antony Hamilton (Yung Lung, Nyx, Blood & Bone), Stephanie Lake and Robin Fox (Manifesto, A Giant Theremin), Alisdair Macindoe (Reference Material), Melanie Lane (Death Peak), and Rebecca Jensen and Sarah Aiken (Overworld). Rachel completed her dance training at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and The Victorian College of the Arts.

We would like to acknowledge the recent sad news of the passing of the proud Gunditjmara man, songwriter and performer Uncle Archie Roach 🖤💛❤️

The Darebin Aboriginal Advisory Committee, Darebin Council and community acknowledge the sad passing of Gunditjmara and Bundjalung Senior Elder Uncle Archie Roach.
A storyteller, songwriter and campaigner for the rights of Indigenous Australians, his loss will be felt by all.

It's time to meet the creative team from our next presentation: RHYTHMIC FICTIONS by Siobhan McKenna:

Siobhan McKenna (choreographer) is a Melbourne/Naarm based choreographer and dancer, graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She has since presented her award-winning choreography internationally as well as in key Australian festivals. Siobhan’s work Utterance received the ‘Best Dance Award’ and ‘Temperance Hall Award’ in the 2017 Melbourne Fringe Festival and received a nomination for the 'Shirley McKechnie Award for Choreography’ in the 2019 Green Room Awards for its presentation in Dance Massive Festival at Dancehouse. Siobhan’s choreographic work explores ways of incorporating dance, sound and language together to expand and question the relationship between the three mediums.

Meet the creative team behind PARADISE LOST by Bloomshed after Milton.

James Malcher (Our Lord God John Milton) has been working extensively for the last five years in the Melbourne theatre scene on a wide variety of projects. In 2017 he graduated from Monash University's theatre program with a strong academic base and experience in an eclectic range of performance styles. Since graduating, James has received critical praise for his work, in particular for Daniel Lammin's Awakening and Bloomshed's The Market is a Wind-Up Toy and Paradise Lost.

Meet the creative team behind PARADISE LOST by Bloomshed after Milton.

Justin Gardam (Sound Designer/Dramaturg) is a dramaturg, writer, and award-winning designer and director. He is a graduate of Monash University’s Bachelor of Performing Arts and completed a Master of Dramaturgy at the Victorian College of the Arts. He has won a Green Room Award for his work with Bloomshed, and has been nominated for multiple awards in this year’s ceremony. His wider credits include Everyone is Famous and F. (Riot Stage); Lamb, Control, and Wakey Wakey (Red Stitch); Paradise Lost, Bad News, The Market is a Wind-Up Toy and The Nose (Bloomshed); and I’m Not a Mime, The New Nine and Mime Consultant (Patrick Collins). As associate: Considerable Sexual License (Joel Bray Dance); Suddenly Last Summer and The Moors (Red Stitch); Merciless Gods (Little Ones Theatre); and Abigail's Party (MTC).

Meet the creative team behind PARADISE LOST by Bloomshed after Milton.

Elizabeth Brennan (Eve) is a Monash Bachelor of Performing Arts graduate, now working as a Melbourne based actor, writer and theatre maker. She has worked extensively with Bloomshed over the last five years, adapting and performing in Ernëst, The Nose, The Market is a Wind-Up Toy, Paradise Lost and Bad News. She has also toured with the Anzac Centenary Roadshow, and yearly delivers Shakespeare to the bats and possums with the Australian Shakespeare Company. Having recently performed and written her debut solo show Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Ham for MICF, Elizabeth has decided that collaboration is preferable.

Meet the creative team behind PARADISE LOST by Bloomshed after Milton.

James Jackson (Creative Director/Archangel Lucifer) is an award winning director, writer and producer. Recent works include Bad News (Nominated Best Writing and Best Design, Green Room Awards 2021), Paradise Lost (Nominated Best Production, Ensemble, Design, and Digital Realisation, Green Rooms Awards 2021), The Market (Critic's Pick 2018 Sydney Fringe), The Nose (Festival Director's Award, Sydney Fringe and Nominated for Direction and Production, Green Room Awards 2019). Outside of Bloomshed James has directed The Mission (The Space Company) and worked as a dramaturg for the National Theatre of Croatia (Rijeka). James holds a Masters of Dramaturgy from the Victorian College of the Arts.
