My latest miniature, Poon's Chinese Restaurant which was an icon in Footscray for decades. The signage was what caught my eye and decided that I had to make this, but I had a helluva lot of fun making the old-school suburban Chinese restaurant interior along the way. Yes, you are right, I taught myself how to fold napkins to be little tiny bishop hats :)

Here's my new miniature: Poon's Chinese restaurant in Footscray. I've been wanting to make this for quite a while - the neon signage, the classic suburban Chinese restaurant vibe, the street pole sticking through the awning, what's not to love about Poon's?

Just like that I'm back to my quiet studio, away from the world of exhibitions and media, making the next miniature. It's a total departure from my music venues theme - after about 18 months making music related stuff, I wanted to make something completely different, a place that I've been wanting to make for a long time.

Any guesses?

One clue: Footscray.

To Shini Pararajasingham and all the staff at Off The Kerb Gallery who made it such a record-breaking exhibition. And to everyone who offered such kind words online.

It's been a buzz. LOUD, LIVE & LOVED is over now, it's time to start work on the next one. Stay tuned :)
