Thank you ABC Radio Illawarra for having me on the Saturday Breakfast show this morning with Mark Matthews! I got to speak about Project Contemporary Artspace and the Emerging Artist Market I'm running today! β˜€οΈ

I can't wait to see you all there throughout the day 😁

There will be lots of handmade items like original artworks and prints, customised embroidered clothing, Aboriginal jewellery & woven art, second hand books, crochet, badges, zines, stickers and more !

Hii everyone! β˜€οΈ
Just a reminder that I will be at Project Contemporary Artspace tomorrow! (Saturday 22nd) for the Emerging Artists Market. The stall holders will be creative people aged 14-30 so you'll see a few familiar faces but also some young people having their very first stall! πŸ’«

I'll be there selling my earrings, squishmallows and other bits n' bobs πŸ„πŸ­πŸ¦–

There will also be a fundraiser stall, run by tomato soup! We will be raising funds for the Palestine Student Scholarship Fund (The PSSF) I will be of course donating my watermelon earrings πŸ‰ and bringing along the Art For Gaza donations (pictured on slide 4). We will also be raising funds for a local youth in need by selling jarred olives (picked from my tree!) πŸ«’. So please spread the word and bring a buddy along!

Q***R PHOTOGRAPHY & ART PROJECT - CALL OUT πŸ“Έ

✨ Are you Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander & identity as q***r and/or LGBTQIA+SB?

✨ Are you a Person of Colour & Identity as Q***r and/or LGBTQIA+SB?

✨ Are you from a diverse cultural background & Identity as Q***r and/or LGBTQIA+SB?

✨ Are you happy sharing your story publicly? (identifiably or anonymously)

If yes! - we are looking for people to share their stories for an art project that will be in the Wollongong CBD. Highlighting how q***r identities exist and are interwoven within culture and traditions. Shining light on identities that are rarely represented

*Key dates:
πŸ“Έ Photoshoot & meet and greet days: Sat 8th or Sun 9th, August, 12-4pm

πŸ–ŒοΈ Craft workshop days: Sat 29th or Sun 30th, August, 12-4pm

*You do not need to attend all of these dates, more details and expectations will be provided

What to expect?

PHOTOSHOOT DAY:
There will be a photoshoot day facilitated by Eren and Charlii (Charlii Angelz Creative). Charlii is a q***r Lebanese photographer who is very inclusive and welcoming. You can come as an individual, with a friend or your chosen family.

Your photo can be taken as a portrait or taken in a way that you will be anonymous, you can also bring objects to be photographed such as fabrics, food, clothes etc. (no flags) Please message me to confirm your attendance.

CRAFT DAY:
This will be a relaxed day to share your story through creativity. The project is led by community, so share your story through, drawing, painting collage, poetry, photos, fabrics, paper mache etc.

This workshop day will be facilitated by Eren and Jes (πš“πšŽπšœ πš›. πš›. πšŠπš•πšŽπš‘πšŠπš—πšπšŽπš›), we will work with you to help express your stories and journey. Individuals, friends and chosen families are all welcome. Please message me to confirm your attendance.

These workshop days will be on level 4 of the Wollongong Art Gallery, in the Education Room. This will be a privately booked space with lots of sunlight. Tea and coffee provided β˜€οΈ

Join me in manifesting sunshine once again for Pride Month Market Day, this Saturday at Project Contemporary Artspace ! 🌞

I'll be back this year with my handmade upcycled earrings, pride earrings & charm earrings πŸŒˆπŸ„πŸ¦†β™€οΈπŸ­

This year we won't have a food truck so if weather permits I'm encouraging people to bring a little picnic, set up on the grassy patch near the graffiti wall 🧺πŸ₯ͺ

There is live music from 1pm by & 🎢

This market day is no ordinary market, it's a day for creativity, and socialising πŸ—£οΈ Stick around to do some chalk drawing, meet a new friend or hit the art table with Rainbow South Coast 🌈

Monisha and I pour hours and hours (and hours) into organising this fabulous exhibition ~ We try to create a space that is welcoming and inclusive for everyone in the q***r creative community, so it's heartwarming to see all parts of the community coming together to celebrate each other!

Congrats again to last year's award winners , & KatieπŸ…

This year we've been cooking up another storm (though let's manifest sunshine) with the exhibition once again reaching capacity there are going to be a range of incredible works you won't want to miss!

Install starts on Monday with the exhibition opening to the public from Wednesday and of course... Opening Night Friday the 5th! πŸͺ©πŸ•ΊπŸ»πŸŽΆ
We have the fab .fancyy & performing for us along with FREE bubble tea donated by πŸ§‹+ catering thanks to my mum 😌

Thank you Wollongong Youth Services for this wonderful opportunity. Last year during Rainbow League a group of us filmed a few different short films with Geoff Platts from Big Word Video. It was such a fun experience where we were able to tell our stories in a serious way or in a... less serious way πŸ¦‡πŸ§›πŸ¦β€β¬› They were filmed for fun but some of the works were also submitted for the Creative Wollongong Short Film Competition and Festival!

"Burning In The Limelight" is a mockumentary short film about a vampire late night talkshow host who faces backlash for comments made during his regular program 'Early Mornings with Lazlo'.

Congratulations to everyone involved, it was really wonderful watching all the short films and hearing from some of the other creatives at the end of the evening. Such a fun night on the red carpet at Gala Twin Cinemas and thanks to for MCing and bringing the vibes!🌟🎀

Another lovely opening night for 'Snapshot' this evening. I'm exhibiting some photos from my trip to Japan - which was a year ago if you can believe it! I'm definitely feeling some FOMO as the cherry blossoms are blooming again this year, but I get to relive it a little by looking at these photos 🌸πŸ₯°
