Sydney-based pop-rock artist Santino Salvadore is a soulful singer-songwriter, musician and producer. He is best known as an “outside of the box entertainer” - his stage presence is one of the tricks he pulls out of his hat… You’re bound to be drawn into his performance. Santino embraces genres of music such as Rock-Pop, Indie-Rock, Punk-Rock, acoustic ballads with flavours of Paolo Nutini, and Bob Dylan sipped with influences by Foo Fighters and Eddie Vedder. His lyrics are honest and at the same time hold deep wisdom - you’ll find his view of life throughout the brightest and darkest experiences of his journey so far.

Using his talented songwriting skills, Santino naturally expresses the beautiful gift of humanity, affection and friendship through his music and evocative lyrics. He has been dedicated to writing and composing music since he first started playing the guitar as a young 15-year-old in his native Sicily. At age 18 he headed to Edinburgh, Scotland where his talents continued to grow in and around the backdrop of the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His next stop was Sydney, Australia where his song-writing skills bloomed and developed, even more, culminating in the release of 3 studio EPS and 6 singles between the UK + Australia.

Santino Salvadore collaborated for the first time with Lili Alaska for the latest single "when the roots are deep" which is out now on every streaming platform. Written with his consummate honesty and passion for life, this song is yet another fine example of Santino using his life experiences to deliver a stunning combination of music and poetry for his growing fan base across the globe.

Friday September 16th - Liz & Sarah of Taylor Project launch online EP “Keeping Up Disappearances”, with Hook Turns.

Taylor Project have performed and recorded music since 2008, in a distinctive style for which they have concluded the best fit is “folk music with factoids” or “nerd folk”. As well as hundreds of gigs in Melbourne bars and pubs, they have performed around their country base in Elmore and at festivals such as Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, the Maldon Folk Festival, the Guildford Banjo Jamboree, and the Renaissance Festival. Since lockdown they have recorded a special set of songs which they will release as an online EP with accompanying film clips: Keeping up Disappearances. A common thread through these songs is the different ways and means that humans go about keeping up appearances, and the inevitable work of disappearing the inconvenient details. They are delighted to be able to launch this at Some Velvet Morning, featuring a real piano, a key (!) component of these recordings.

Announcing the second single off his forthcoming debut EP is the latest from storyteller and multi-instrumentalist Leo Nazz. 'It Feels Like' is a genuine cry from the heart navigating through the struggles of dealing with mental health issues. Sometimes when you think it will only get worse, the best thing to do is to let it go, let it run its course. The single will be the second to feature on Nazz's forthcoming debut EP and is the continuation of a collection of semi-autobiographical stories. 'It Feels Like' will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday 2 September.

Leo Nazz is an emerging folk-rock singer-songwriter based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. His ability to write relatable songs through emotive lyric writing and fabulous use of imagery is a true standout. Playing guitar & harmonica, Leo explores various themes aiming to bring to light issues that many of us deal with on a regular basis. Think songs by the fire with a touch of poetry - warm, raw, and slightly sentimental. This year saw the artist feature at the 2022 Aireys Inlet Festival and will see him performing more around Melbourne in the coming months. Leo's debut EP is scheduled for release in late 2022.

Thanks to everyone who came down to Some Velvet Morning on Thursday night. It was a joy 💜
So, ahead of my upcoming gig at Some Velvet Morning on the 27th, I've been quietly assembling a new team of highly skilled musos to share music making with. First up is the tremendous Holly Downes on double bass. Holly is well known for her work with The String Contingent, whose lush arrangements featured on my first album Ultraviolet. She is also my sister and is the strongest, most patient person I know. She is pictured here threatening the photographer with mallets.
🌴🎶🌸 I met Kelsey Jean and Georgia Delaney Martin at the end of last year at a beautiful Vibe Union gig and I’ve been wanting to play a show with them ever since. We’re making it happen next month! I love Some Velvet Morning morning so much. This is going to be delightful. Huge thank you to Ry Hamilton-Smith for the dreamy poster. Tix are 10bucks +bf. This time next week I’ll be playing to a somewhat bigger audience than this at Some Velvet Morning in Clifton Hill. But can’t beat playing to Chloe the dog and good friends 😁. Manda Gleeson (Numbat) will be kicking things off at 8pm. Free entry. Limited seats. xx
