Youth Council Spotlight:
Youth Deputy Mayor Kirra Imbriano

Kirra is 17 years old and lives in Eltham. Kirra always wanted a platform to help make positive change in the local community and thinks Youth Council is a great place to do that. Kirra is passionate about the environment, LGBTQIA+ inclusion and Reconciliation.

Kirra’s goals for Youth Council this year include utilising social media to engage with and inspire local young people as well as encouraging more young people in advocacy and leadership.

📣Calling all young musicians, managers and aspiring music industry professionals!📣

We’re running a free workshop with The Push on Marketing and Promotion.

The session will be run by Jake Matthews, Campaign Manager at Here For Good, a creative agency based in Melbourne providing label services for artists, managers and brands. He has a world of knowledge on all things Marketing and Promotions also working as a Music Publicist and Workshop Facilitator at The Push.

💉💉Still need to get vaccinated?💉💉

To make it easier to get your COVID-19 vaccinations, we’re hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic at Edendale Community Environment Farm this Saturday as well as two more clinics in Greensborough and Plenty this month. Details are:

The clinics will take both walk-ins and bookings for first, second and third doses. Fourth dose are also available for those who are eligible.

Youth Council Spotlight:
Youth Mayor Brianne Keogh

Brianne is 24 years old and lives in Plenty. Brianne joined Youth Council because she wanted to make an impact in the Shire even if it was big or small. Brianne is passionate about gender equity, preventing bullying and financial wellbeing for young people.

Brianne’s goals for Youth Council this year include implementing actions on the Youth Strategy, assisting with the co-design of a Youth Hub and establishing a Women’s Leadership Program within local sporting clubs.

🎼🎼 Are you a young singer passionate about opera and musical theatre? 🎼🎼

Then Montsalvat and Victorian Opera’s Winter Youth Chorus Series is the perfect program for you!

Young singers aged 15-25 are invited to the beautiful grounds of Montsalvat for a week of workshops and performances. Participants will sing alongside professional singers and be mentored by Victorian Opera’s artistic and music staff in this fun holiday project.

When: July 4 - July 10 (Term 2 school holidays)

Only one more week until our skate workshops with Shredability

Learn to Skate Sessions will run next Thursday 21 April from 3.30pm at Hurstbridge Skatepark.

Sessions are split into beginners (never picked up a skateboard) and intermediate (can push). We’ll also have some skateboards to borrow if you don’t have your own.
