🥳 Exciting news! Wading for Dinner has been awarded Highly Commended at the Pakenham Art Show!

Inspired by a special moment captured in Tyenna, Tasmania, this painting has been a favourite from the moment I started it. Delighted to see it receive recognition.

I have 2 other paintings in the show ‘Lead the way’ and ‘In the heat of the day’
The exhibition is showcasing some amazing art work and is well worth a visit at Pink Hill Hotel, 20 Pink Hill Blvd Beaconsfield.
Congratulations to all the artists who exhibited, and thank you to the organisers and judge Anna Reid for a wonderful show.

🎨✨ Feeling grateful and encouraged to keep creating.

Today I joined Society of Victoria Australia’s paint-out group and tried plein air painting in oils for the very first time 🎨✨

I was definitely nervous (and even forgot my palette knife 😅), but I absolutely loved the experience. Fresh air, painting with friends, and so much encouragement made it such a joyful day. Not a masterpiece but a fun start.

Here’s to trying new things and having fun along the way 💛 big shout out to for the fabulous pochade box 🎨

What a beautiful surprise and honour to learn this painting has received First Place with the Pastel Society of Victoria’s March Monthly Encouragement Award in the Established section🎉 Sometimes the most special paintings begin with a fleeting moment and a friend willing to stop the car (thanks Trish 💖) so thrilled this Tassie memory has been awarded First Place. ✨.

Tonight Erin came into the studio and told me about her day, teaching can be challenging….her passion is heart warming. Then she just sat looking at her phone and I painted her….a tiny picture…. 25 minutes tops. What a joy!

I’m feeling very grateful that my painting “Lead the Way Home” has received First Prize (Established Section) in the February Monthly Encouragement Awards from the Pastel Society of Victoria.

This painting of my daughter and her dog Sarge walking the track together holds a special place in my heart. It captures such a simple, beautiful moment - a quiet stroll and the comforting feeling of heading home.

A big thank you to the Pastel Society of Victoria for the encouragement and support of artists.

I’m currently working on a small series inspired by children at the beach.

I think we all have photographs that capture a moment in time…
sun, sand, salty air, and the pure delight of just being a child.

There’s something so fleeting about those carefree days …..sandy toes, wind-tangled hair, and the world feeling wonderfully big.

I’m curious… do beach memories hold a special place for you too? 🌊☀️

Today I’m painting with oils in the studio. I love mixing paint, I talk to myself constantly ….. does this color need to be lighter or darker, does it need to be cooler or warmer? I totally get lost in the world of color. I have painted this before en plein air in soft pastel.
This is a small study , hoping to use it to develop a larger painting 😄
