Join Rina online on Saturdays 1pm in September for individual technique class for leaders and followers.
Class content will be strengthening, conditioning and Tango technique training. Saturdays through September, $15 per session.
All you will need is an area at home with good internet connection, some space to move (2x2), and yourself!

I trained almost daily for over a decade as tango dancer.
For me it was a lifestyle choice: drills, postural development, biomechanics of movement, how to hold a dynamical embrace, connection to my body and a partner’s, dismantling tango to rebuild it for teaching purposes etc.
And. Last night I had an epiphany.
For some background, I have danced only maybe 5 times in the last 3 years. So, I had expected my body was out of condition and the tango would be sub par.
But, something else happened.
Because of this long break, I let go of the technical constructs, the expectations of dancing in any particular way. I opened up and surrendered to the mystery of uncertainty.
I let my body flow and through it my soul found it’s voice.
Awakened. Connection.
Boldly expressing its luscious desire and flare.
Available to meet my partner where they lay.
Surrendered to the moment, I showed up as me incarnated, embodied.
Inspired.
In my acceptance I found my authentic glow.
Harmony in partnership. Feeling met. Open.
My body hums this morning.
My heart is open.
I feel reconnected.
I am reborn.

Tango Esencia is very happy to announce that some face to face classes will resume at the studio starting from Saturday, 14 November. We can't wait to finally work with you in the studio! 🙌👯♀️We are working hard so that we can welcome you safely back in line with restrictions, distancing, cleaning etc. We will first be starting with individual technique classes.
As numbers will be limited in compliance with restrictions, BOOKINGS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL CLASSES.
Please make sure you book to avoid disappointment. During this November transition period, you will have the option to join these classes online as well. We thank you for your support through these challenging times and during this transition period.

To our dear Tango family,
As you know, under the current circumstances Tango Esencia Studio is closed. We hope you are all well and keeping safe. During these uncertain times, it is now more that ever important to stay strong, kind, positive and boost your immune system!
For the month of April, Tango Esencia will be sharing short exercise and technique videos every few days to help you continue with your Tango training and stay healthy. The videos will be bite size clips to motivate you to do the exercises without overwhelming you. We encourage you to exercise as it is good not only for your overall health, but improves your mental health, mood and can also help with relaxation and sleep quality. The recommendation is a half an hour everyday.
Rina will be starting her series with body conditioning exercises and tips for dancers that are simple but effective and help you create a leaner, stronger body(excuse the various locations around the house!). Rina's series will be followed by a series from Ale Joakin Gonzalez and Nadim Sawaya.

While I was away, great friends of mine (and a former student) opened up a brilliant new Dance Studio (because they are truly brilliant!) - called HD Entertainment - in Prahran (for Hooman & Dalena). They have enthusiastically invited me back to the dance floor to teach there and share my love for connection, embrace and Tango movement. So I do hope you will swing by sometime soon to visit.
For now, I am offering private Tango lessons at HD Entertainment between 11AM - 6PM on Tuesdays & on Saturdays. I cannot wait to share with you more Tango wisdom as has accumulated after 15 years of teaching it 😍
