Another wonderful Christmas lunch today! Setup began early with Big Event Picnic Tables setting up 10 picnic tables and umbrellas - thanks guys! Betta Event Hire also arrived to setup their tables and chairs under the shade of the trees at Melba Park. A team of volunteers arrived to setup marquees, unpack our van (twice) prepare the site.

It was a beautiful day and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal - meats (hot and cold) by Tasty Az and scrumptious salads by the team at Coldstream Brewery! Desserts were provided by Valley & Vine Grazing co and some of our amazing volunteers!

Santa visited and the faces of joy on the kids was well worth the efforts to organise! Everyone left with a smile, full tummy and a Christmas Hamper!

Thank you to all the volunteers and people who made today possible! It was a wonderful day!

UPDATE FOR SUNDAY'S GIG - THE JEFF JENKINS BAND
It’s hard to imagine that Sunday is forecast to be cool and wet, given how warm and sunny it is right now, but we’ve got you covered - literally! We're making it an under cover event with a marquee over the deck and tables inside to keep you all dry.
So if you are a ticket holder - you have a table ready and waiting for you, no need to bring any picnic rugs or chairs.

We are at capacity now that it’s an under cover event, so it’s sold out.
But if you haven’t yet bought a ticket, you are welcome to put your name on the wait list incase we get a cancellation - just email

Due to the reduced numbers the pizza truck won't be attending.
So, rather than eating pizza al fresco from food trucks, you can order a grazing platter for 2 ($30) or cheese platter for 2 ($22) to enjoy at your table. Order yours now by emailing Monica or take pot luck on the day, and of course you’re welcome to BYO food too.

Some of the most memorable moments are the unexpected ones, and that is what happened Friday night when Meagan and Rashid made the brave decision to "just go for it". Having already rescheduled their wedding once before they couldn't face the heartbreak of doing that again, so when lockdown was announced their Saturday wedding became a Friday night wedding. And it was a beautiful thing as their family and friends rallied around them, to make sure that Meagan and Rashid had the most magical of evenings.

So let me tell you all about the amazing vendors that went above and beyond.

The amazing florist Emma Lane, who drove hours from Geelong through ridiculous traffic, but made it just in time and can be seen in the photos create flower arrangements in the car park. Emma Lane Flowers

The amazing Essential Caterers. Not only arriving with amazing staff with barely a few hours notice, but serving delicious food that everyone raved about, and with the times lines changing all evening as things played out. Our first (and hopefully, only) Covid-safe Christmas lunch is over! It was a wonderful day in Melba Park, Lilydale! We were thrilled to share lunch with 100 or so friends.

Our lunch would not have been possible without the support of so many people, businesses, and organisations. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Lilydale for joining us to cook the snags and hamburgers from The Meat Inn Place. They even supplied the cut onions! The gas for the BBQ's were generously supplied by Yarra Valley Gas The cold room was supplied by Ranges TEC - RTO 22559 and dropped off and picked up by our mate, Glenn.

George from the Kilysth Township Group was on hand with his large stretch marquee that folk sat under on chairs and tables from Betta Event Hire, or on some amazing picnic tables from the folks from Big Event Picnic Tables!

There were so many volunteers who joined us to set-up, serve and clean up - too many to mention. But, we can't go by without saying a special thanks to Tim Heenan - Billanook Ward, for his help, moving hampers to Melba Park and setting up.

Thank you to the Yarra Ranges Council for their support. Thank you too, to The Mustard Tree Op Shop & Cafe for their support.

Coldstream Brewery, and many others supplied salads, and we were given so many generous hams to use and share.

Numbers were down, which we believe is due to a number of factors including Covid, different day and location etc.

Everyone that attended left with a smile, full stomach and one of our Christmas Hampers!

I received these amazing images from Carina Sze. Abhi and Nina were the last wedding we did this year before lockdown. This amazing couple brought together people from all over to celebrate their love for each other and wow it was a fabulous party.
I didn't know it was going to be our last wedding for quite a while, but it was a great one to finish with.

Wow! This was one of the most fabulous setups we have had for a wedding at Bulong Estate. Karen and Brett had an amazing night dining under the stars on long tables. Speeches and dance floor were under the marquee on the deck. Fabulous lighting all worked beautifully.
