I grew up feeding on the images of Mick Rock, Bob Gruen, Barry Feinstein, Henry Diltz, Tony Mott, Ross Halfin, Peter Milne, Neal Preston, Lebowitz's rock shots and.... I love how they catch moments.

I'm donating this personal fave image of mine to The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar for auction to save The Tote 📸📸📸

This image is of Spencer P Jones (Official) in the front bar of The Tote Hotel during his epic Living Legends gig during the Leaps and Bounds Music Festival in 2014.

Last time I donated this image was for silent auction at the Spencer P. Jones benefit gig at The Prince Bandroom in 2016 ❤️❤️❤️

Hopefully someone who loves this as much as me takes it home with them. 🤘📸🤘

Last Dayz to get your pledges into this epic and monumental affiar. Save The Tote peoples! Let's get it did!

Well… the last week of the Pozible Campaign is upon us.
We’ve been kind of quiet because we’ve been working pretty damn hard behind the scenes to make this week as fun as possible.
We’ve got some pretty amazing stuff planned.
And we need it.
It’s been a tough 7 weeks.
Tonight we kick things off with one of the weirdest things yet… we’re going to be on the Project.
Buggered if I know how that happened.
But it has.
It’s 100% caused a bit of an existential crisis.
In other words I’m freaking the f**k out.
We just wanted to make sure that the Tote will be there in the future.
Then all this strange s**t started happening.
We had absolutely no idea how massive all of this would get.
But in the end, if we have to do all these crazy things we feel very uncomfortable doing and it manages to help us achieve the ultimate goal of keeping a live music venue kicking for the future so that our community has a place to be exactly who they are, to grow and create, to be nurtured, to perform and to make a s**t load of noise then it’s worth it.
But still… it’s f**king insane.
If you want to be a part of the insanity, a part of history, a part of keeping something good in the world all you have to do is head to https://www.pozible.com/project/the-last-chance-to-save-the-tote and pledge.
And don’t forget to tune into the Project tonight…
Should be a hoot.

Sign this petition to fight for out local music scene!!!

🚨 SOS 🚨 The Victorian live music industry is in trouble and needs your help. Venues from around the state - including The Old Bar - have joined forces to pen an open letter and lobby the government for immediate and ongoing assistance to help them through the current crisis. Read the letter, spread the word, Save Our Scene. Sign the petition at www.saveourscene.com.au

An open letter from Victorian music venues to the State Government

Victoria’s famous music scene is on the brink of collapse and there’s no relief in sight. We are calling on the Victorian Government to step in and save our proud music culture by preserving the venues where artists play.

Live music means mass gatherings, so it will be many months before our state's music venues can safely reopen our doors at viable capacities. In the meantime, our venues are being crippled by mounting debt including rent, mortgage payments, bills and insurance. Without Government intervention, many of the venues you love will be forced to close their doors permanently.

From Victoria's small clubs to our iconic band rooms, the places where you go to listen, dance, share and celebrate music will start to disappear. Stages that nurture emerging artists to those that house Australia's and world’s biggest touring acts will go, and who knows what will replace them.

Why does it matter?

Music is who we are. It is a cornerstone of Victoria’s identity as the “creative state”, it is something that we are known for around the world, and it is a huge economic driver.

Melbourne has more live music venues per capita than any other city in the world. The 700 music venues across Victoria host approximately 100,000 gigs a year, with an estimated economic impact of $1.42 billion generated from live music, clubs and festivals. Melbourne’s live music venues have an audience of 112,000 every Saturday night — more than an AFL grand final. The industry generates tens of thousands of jobs, from musicians and DJs to bookers, promoters, publicists, venue operators, hospitality and bar staff, technicians, security staff and a vast network of ancillary suppliers and contractors.

Music venues are the critical infrastructure of this industry. If our venues disappear, the live music economy will disappear, and our cultural heritage will go with it. Australian artists will have fewer places to perform, to grow, to find fans. At exactly the time when more local stages are needed - because international borders are closed - we will lose them. If we lose the venues, we will lose the artists too.

Our music venues cannot survive without Victorian Government intervention.

So please, protect our music venues. Support our artists. Save our scene.

Sincerely,

Melbourne music legend Penny Ikinger played The Tote's front bar on Wednesday alongside Harry Howard and Edwina Preston's DUET to support Claire Birchall's month long residency.

Claire is previewing material from her upcoming album on It records with incredible support acts each week.

Im a huge fan of Penny so as soon as I read she was playing at The Tote, I grabbed my camera and left home immediately. You should do the same sometime.

This was my first introduction to Claire's music and it was an amazing experience.
