What a lovely way to wrap up the term! Dance-painting presents as gifts to ourselves and as thank you goodbye to Amelia, our long-time student placement who has journeyed with Fog from Zoom to Room, where we also celebrated Debbie's birthday (turning 21! again!) with pink kosher cake, plus going on outdoor nature adventures and mandala-making with Emma Faylecaun, our other practicum student from MIECAT. The feels, fun and frivolity of Fog fancy and friendships all in one fabulous day!!

Since 2021 Fog Theatre and Care-full Design Lab from RMIT University have been working together on Polyphonic Motions- a research & development project that explores co-designing a new online tool where people can playfully connect and interact through movement, colour and sound in real-time online using a we**am. The Foggies responses and experiences have been central to shaping the design process and is also really highlighting how such a tool can create new performance and collaboration possibilities which we look forward to testing in the near future. Polyphonic Motions is a partnership project with Vitae Veritas and RMIT University and is funded by Australia Council for the Arts ‘Reimagine’ Sector Recovery Fund and the Department of Social Services. Documentation by David Hansen.

This time next week. Local Port Phillip icon, cultural treasure and man about town, Danny Quinlivan Is turning 70!

Danny is well known around St Kilda for his happy demeanour, snappy dress sense and corny jokes. A member of Council program, FOG Theatre since 1991, Danny is also a regular participant in a number of other Council supported recreation and arts programs.

Danny can be seen enjoying a snag at The Friday Men’s Barbeque Group, chatting with the crew at the Sol Green Monday Drop In, knocking out a song at Five Minutes of Fame and cracking up the crew at SPARC Theatre.

The SPARC staff team of Katie Lockett, Myf Powell and Rachel Edward along with SPARC guest artist Nicolette Forte have organised a slap up birthday party for Danny on 11 August at The St Kilda Sports Club (the bowlo).

There will be cake and possibly cream buns. :) Local businesses Topolinos and Barzar Lounge have jumped on board to provide subsidized or in-kind catering. If you see Danny on his daily stroll around St Kilda stop and have a chat, Danny always has a new joke to try out.

All these great photos of Danny are taken by Rachel Edward. Enjoy!
Thank you so much FOG Theatre for having me on board for your Open House project and for the huge amount of laughter, in chuckles and guffaws! I had such a marvellous time!! See you all again sometime! ###
