Welcome to Arting From Afar with Lee and Rachel, Week 7.
Today we are catching up with our Week 6 prompts and how we have been keeping busy in lockdown. This lockdown number 6 for Melbourne had been a tiring one for us all. Even though in theory it has given me more time for art, it doesn't seem like I had that much time in the end. I do know one thing though, these sessions with Rachel keep me sane and foster the connection we humans so desperately are missing in these lockdowns.
For this weeks Arting From Afar, we have split our sheet into 2 sections and will work on each section for 3 days. The colours we used in our backgrounds were Burnt Sienna, Sap Green and Cobalt Blue Hue. The paper I used was Bockingford watercolour paper
We drew the prompts for the first 3 days and they are
Stamp
Glaze
Resist.
If you are following along, don't forget to tag us and use the hashtag so we can share.

You don't need to commit to a full series, just grab your paints and join in when you can. As per usual, we will each pick a prompt for the day.

Welcome to the second week of our Arting from afar series. This video begins with a catch up about last weeks art challenge. We discuss what we liked and what took us out of our comfort zone, how the paper held up and how we generally felt about the whole series.
Then we move on to this weeks series, the supplies we are using with a paint along video of how we create our background for the coming week
As usual, please feel free to join in at any time and post your photos in the comments below.
And if you have a prompt that you would like us to use please add to the comments and we will make sure we use it this week.
Art is medicine, it is a moving meditation and it is nourishment for your soul.
If this is your first time with us, we will be picking a prompt each day to use for our art blocks that have been created from todays background. We will both be using the same prompt so it will be fun to see what we both come up with. The idea here is to have a daily art practice, regardless of the time that is available. It can be as little as 5 minutes or an hour but regardless, it is a practice that is an essential part of my wellbeing toolkit. Why not make it yours?
Day1 of Lee Clements Art and Art By Rachel Baker . Prompt was: quirky birds.

I'm a bit late in posting but would like to thank and congratulate our members who took part in and sold paintings at this year's Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Without your support our participation in this event would not be possible.
Personally I would like to thank Rachel Baker who helps me every year to setup and pack down our exhibition, particularly this year when family emergency called me interstate for the final weekend of the show. Thank you also to Gemma and Alana Baker who helped with duty and pack down.
Let's look forward to next year's show.
