Source Photographica is a photography gallery, run by gallerist and collector Philip Kulpa.
Source Photographica, was established by Philip Kulpa who has been an active participant in both the Australian and International visual arts industry for 30 years. As investor, seller and observer, what started out originally as a vintage photography collector’s passion, has seen Philip develop into a compelling authority on the Australian and international photography market. Philip travels regu
larly to important shows globally: Paris Photo, AIPAD New York. He has contacts and relationships with many Auction houses worldwide and his formidable knowledge is now recognised internationally. It is this reputation that has increasingly seen Philip called on to curate for several important private collections in Australia and abroad. Philip also represents many emerging and established locally and internationally. At the end of 2021 Source Photographica relocated to Sorrento in Victoria with the opening exhibition: Nick Brandt, The Day May Break. Philip can offer clients sales and advice on photography from either Sorrento or the Prahran gallery by appointment. Represented artists include:

Renowned collector and gallerist Philip Kulpa brings to the Mornington Peninsula the extraordinary work of the international environmentalist photographer Nick Brandt. The Day May Break is the first part of a global series portraying people and animals impacted by environmental destruction. All people and animals were photographed together in the same frame. The people in the photos have all been badly affected by climate change - displaced & impoverished by years-long severe droughts and cyclones. The animals in the photos are almost all rescues, due to everything from poaching of their parents to habitat destruction & poisoning.They can never be released back into the wild, and so now habituated, they could be photographed together in the same frame as the people.
