Mark your calendars for Wednesday 7 December from 6.30pm to 8.30pm – our next Victorian Veteran Family Services (VVFS) Information Night is happening.
Our second guest speaker will be Andrew McDougall. Andrew will talk about his service in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), including how he navigated the challenges of transitioning from Service to civilian life.
Andrew served for 15 years in the Air Force and a further 9 years in the Army, where he spent many years flying Blackhawk helicopters. After discharging in 2016, he made the leap to Reserves, where he served in an Air Force unit as an Army Officer. Andrew now focuses his attention on understanding how life in the ADF affects the families of veterans and helps many others make sense of their own journey.
This event is part of a series of sessions designed to connect families and support persons of veterans to important information and resources during the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Su***de.
You can attend online or in person at Level 2, Legacy House, 293 Swanston Street, Melbourne.

As a military spouse, Danielle Moffitt knows the challenges that families of veterans can experience as they transition out of Defence.
And she's here to support other families experiencing similar challenges.
Danielle met Harry, an SAS Operator, during a night out in Perth back in 1992. He told her he was a florist. They married several years later and went on to have two children together, Georgia and Henry. In 2002, Harry went on the first of eleven deployments with SASR, and Danielle spent the next fifteen or so years managing their family life and her own career.
Danielle is speaking at our upcoming Victorian Veteran Family Services (VVFS) information night on Wednesday 7th December, 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
This session focuses on transitioning from Defence, and how social connection, peer support and community engagement can accelerate the process.
You can attend online, or in person at Level 2, Legacy House, 293 Swanston Street, Melbourne.

It's a bu**er but you'll just have to be content with our raffle of Meat, Fruit & Veg boxes & other goodies, together with the Members Draw and Happy Hour (and a half), terrific independent craft beer, improving wine selection and scintillating conversation from the punters.
Unfortunately Buck has tested positive to the Rona. We were hoping he would recover in time but it’s not eventuated sadly. We will rebook in the new year. Apologies to all. Xx
