Preston Photographic Club

Preston Photographic Club The Preston Photographic Club is an organization for photography enthusiasts at all levels. We are a group of enthusiast photographers of different ages, occupations and skill levels from different suburbs simply wanting to learn to take better photographs and encourage a higher standard of photography in the Darebin area.

Our program includes workshops, lectures/presentations, competitions, field trips and displays of members’ images. We are an active and growing club and we encourage people to come along and try us out. We generally meet at 7:30pm on the second and fourth Mondays at the Kingsbury Bowling Club, Dunne Street, Kingsbury, Vic, 3083.

We were so lucky to have Adrian Whear attend the club at our last meeting. Adrian is an amazing professional street photographer.
Members were enlighten with Adrian's knowledge of photography and street photography.
We learnt so much, asked many questions and inspired more than ever to get out there and put to use what we learnt from Adrian.

Become a club member and you too will have the opportunity to learn new skills, try something and learn from the industries best.

Take and Create better photos- Leading Lines.

The use of leading lines in your photos is a powerful way to create a better composition. If you start noticing them once you’ll probably find yourself surrounded by them all the time. They’re literally everywhere!

You can use them to draw the viewer’s attention to the subject. Leading lines could be rails, paths, streets, buildings, tunnels or even trees.

With this method you can get really creative and explore countless possibilities to make your images stand out. It also creates depth in the photo as it can connect the foreground with the background.

Thanks for having me our to judge the inter club comp :)
Digital Camera Warehouse Thornbury are running a hands on session with Canon cameras and speedlites Tuesday night in Thornbury. For someone who knows nothing about lighting and speedlites but wants one, is one with IA a good long term investment, new bounce technology that supposedly gets rids of shadows and does your thinking for you. I have booked to go to the course and try their cameras and speedlites.
