WE DID IT - WE CREATED MUSIC HISTORY!

We were so proud to join 200 of our fabulous PLAY IT FORWARD choir family from Melbourne, Brisbane and the Redlands at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl last Friday March 12, 2026 alongside John Farnham’s legedary band and backing singers and other legends of the Australian music industry including Jack Jones, Em Rusciano, Taylor Moss, Rachael Bostock (violinist) and Choir of Hard Knocks creating the World Record for The Australian Book of Records (TABOR) - 4,370 people singing ‘You’re The Voice’ and raising over $45,000 for Head and Neck Cancer Australia.

We can’t thank John & Helen Taylor (TABOR) Gaynor Wheatley, music director extraordinaire Chong Long and John & Jill Farnham enough for the honour of being able to participate in this history making event and being able to sing back to the legend - the voice - John Peter Farnham!

WE SANG IT LOUD & SANG IT CLEAR!

Our participation also couldn’t have happened without a huge Play It Forward team effort and we want to thank everyone that supported us before and during the event, including:

Matthew Jones, Sarah Waight, Michelle Fidler, JJ, our Play It Forward board - Patrick Burns, Tineke Westwood, Merilyn Williams, Viv Walker, Caroline Knaggs, Tracey Blacka and Sally Piracha along with Adam Przewlocki for conducting us at the concert, and of course to our very own artistic director - Jonathon Welch AM, for his extraordinary vision and including us all.

TEAM WORK MADE OUR DREAM WORK

They all helped us to bring our A GAME so that we could all shine up there with the best of the best!

This memory will live in our hearts forever and it goes to prove that….

PLAY IT FORWARD CHOIRS PERFORM @ WORLD RECORD SING ALONG ON MARCH 13!

We are so excited to be the only choirs in Australia, along with our dear friends at Choir of Hard Knocks - to perform on stage at ‘We Are the Voice’ on Friday March 13, 2026 at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl alongside Australian music legends - including Chong Lim, John Farnham’s Band and backing singers, Em Rusciano and Jack Jones to name a few, as we attempt to break the world record for the largest John Farnham singalong!

What an honour to be invited by our fearless Artistic Director - Jonathon Welch AM, who is leading the 20,000 plus audience in this once in a life time experience.

We are also thrilled to help raise funds at this event for the Head & Neck Cancer Foundation that supported John Farnham through his recent cancer battle.

Huge thanks go also to Chong Lim, Gaynor Wheatley, The Australian Book of Records and ‘The Voice’ himself - legendary John Farnham for this incredible opportunity!

Our 200 Melbourne, Redlands and Brisbane singers that will be performing can’t wait to share all their stories and photos from this once in a lifetime event - that is also being filmed, so we are sure to pop up on a screen somewhere soon after the event so you can see it if you can’t make it there.
