Opera Scholars Australia Program is a non-profit organisation that fosters the vocal development of young classical singers between the ages of 18 and 28 in Australia. Established in 1998, Opera Scholars Australia has been around for 22 successful years of developing young artists.

Tickets are live for the OSA Lieder Award Final, featuring four promising young singers - Monica Ruggiero, Agnieszka Cameron, Isaac Burgess & Eleni Gerostamoulos, competing to win prize money and further educational training, generously supported by Goethe-Institut Australien & The Henkell Brothers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Come join us for an afternoon of wonderful music and exceptional talent, accompanied by Phillipa Safey and Rhodri Clarke, with guest adjudicators Lee Abrahmsen & Michael Petruccelli 💫

These four emerging artists will present a 20-25 minute recital program. Head to the link in our bio for more details and across the next few weeks we’ll be sharing what exciting repertoire they’ve each chosen.

eleni gerostamoulos Isaac Aggie Cameron & Monica Ruggiero who last week sang for their spot in The OSA Lieder Award Final coming up on August 30 Kew Court House 💫

These four exceptional young singers will perform to win prize money and further education, generously sponsored by The Henkell Brothers & the Goethe-Institut Australien ✨

Huge toi toi toi to the entire cast and crew for a fabulous opening night and season ahead. It’s wonderful for OSA to have Al leading the organisation as a practicing artist and performer - so that our young artists may see not only an enduring performance career but also a balance between craft and arts leadership 👏🏽

The Merry Widow is on at the Sydney Opera House from 8 July to 18 August 💫

Huge thanks to Annie Strauch (she/her) for a fantastic session this morning bringing her program The Dynamic Voice to our intensive. The Scholars took a dive into voice anatomy, function and movement and synthesising information to create strength and stability for longevity in performance. Thank you Annie 🙏🏽

We are underway for the OSA winter intensive this week at Hawthorn Arts Centre with expert coachings, yoga class, movement workshops and our Lieder Award Heats - more on this and a *save the date* for our award final coming tomorrow 👀

✨ A Fond Farewell & A Warm Welcome ✨

As we celebrate a new chapter at OSA, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mei Wah Chan, who has supported our Artistic & Program Director over the past year with dedication, enthusiasm and care. As an OSA alumna, Mei Wah has been a valued member of our community, and we are thrilled to see her embark on her next adventure in Paris, where she is pursuing her singing career. We wish her every success and look forward to following her journey.

At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Bec Dundas to OSA as our new Producer. Bec brings a wealth of experience as a dance artist, movement director, creative producer and arts leader, having worked across major performing arts organisations, festivals and youth arts programs throughout Australia. Her passion for artist development, pathway programs and creating meaningful opportunities for emerging performers makes her a wonderful addition to the OSA team.

Please join us in thanking Mei Wah for her contribution and welcoming Bec to the OSA family. We are excited for all that lies ahead. 💫

Step into a world of gods, heroes and timeless stories as Myths & Legends brings epic storytelling to life through the power of the human voice.

Featuring the outstanding singers of Opera Scholars Australia, this evocative concert weaves together operatic scenes and art songs inspired by myth and legend.

From the grandeur and drama of Handel and Rameau, to the lyrical intimacy of Schubert and the delightfully playful Heggie, these works explore love and loss, triumph and transformation, drawing ancient tales into vivid musical life.

By turns dramatic, tender, and exhilarating, Myths and Legends invites audiences to experience opera and song as living storytelling – where history, imagination and music collide.
