Pearcedale Skatepark and Playspace is a quiet destination on Baxter-Tooradin Road, making it perfect for a relaxed day out in the City of Casey area.

The upgraded park caters beautifully to toddlers and preschoolers under five years old, featuring a smaller climbing structure, a small trampoline, a seesaw, and traditional swings instead of any large slides. Younger children will also love exploring the fairy garden, which comes complete with a mushroom cubby house and miniature tables and chairs.

Meanwhile, older kids can enjoy the expansive, highly popular skate park and the adjacent dirt bike track. Visitors can also make use of the outdoor exercise equipment or head onto the grassed areas and adjacent football oval to kick a ball around. The site is well-equipped for an extended stay with electric BBQs, shaded seating areas, a standard water tap, and a dedicated pet water bowl. However, you should note that there are no public toilets directly on-site, though you can easily access them by taking a short walk down the street to the local Pearcedale shops and cafes for your coffee fix. The on-site parking area can get quite muddy after rain, so it is highly recommended to pack gumboots for the kids.
To turn your visit into a full day trip, consider driving down to the nearby Tooradin foreshore on your way home to explore the scenic coastline and grab a local ice cream.

Rone has built a full-scale 1950s Australian weatherboard house from scratch right inside Chadstone Shopping Centre.

The items Rone showcases in this exhibition named HOME are the exact everyday objects that used to define Australian homes but have slowly vanished. Bread bins, Hills hoist, telephone bench, reminders of childhood. Such a nostalgic trip.

11th June - 12th July.

Free to visit but you need to book a ticket here - https://www.chadstone.com.au/light-to-night/home-exhibition-by-rone

Honestly, what a fun night seeing Windmill Theatre Company Inc. production of & Juliet at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren, I’m still smiling. It is exactly what local community theatre should be: high-energy, full of laughs, and just pure, unadulterated fun. It completely trades stuffy theatrical vibes for a massive pop culture party that leaves you feeling incredibly good.

The singing isn't always pitch-perfect but there are some real stand-outs and hearing everyone belt out hits like "Since U Been Gone" and "Larger Than Life" was an absolute blast. The dancing matches that same fun, unpretentious energy. You won't find any overly elegant, delicate ballet or stiff routines here. Instead, the ensemble serves up good, high-octane moves that perfectly fit the bangers on the soundtrack.

What makes this show such a winner is how genuinely funny it is. The script is packed with witty pop culture references and hilarious banter that kept me giggling, delivered by a talented cast.
Flipping the script so Juliet doesn't just end it all over a guy is the ultimate power move. Watching her pack her bags for Paris to find her own freedom was so empowering. The messages of self-confidence hit perfectly without being overly dramatic. It’s all about backing yourself, making your own choices, and being unapologetically who you are.

This show is a great theatre experience for teens and young people as well as their parents.

The program is old skool cute with a poster in the centre and a free lip balm
