And here are some words from our esteemed, and tireless director Cathy Hunt:

"She Wrote The Letter opens THIS EVENING at St Martins - a brand new work by Kieran Carroll adapted from real life letters, performed by Tania McNaughton and Maria Nordenberg, lit by Harrie Hogan with sound design by Jess Keeffe.

With the fabulous Rachel Kamath as associate producer and operated by Natalya Shield. Publicity by Cherry Hands Media with gorgeous PR photos by Brent Lukey Photographer.

If friendship is a truly radical force in this strange old world then this play asks us to focus on how our lives can be charged by the way our real friends enter into our lives and become an intrinsic part of them. Somehow, everything starts to matter, however minute a detail when heard by a friend who can be bothered to try to understand, even from the other side of the world. #penpals #shewrotetheletter"

Kieran's piece is called "Jean Smith". It's an excerpt from a longer monologue, with the character first appearing in the anti-gambling play, "Enough is Enough". "Jean Smith" will be performed by San Fransisco-based actor Ananda Bena-Weber, and forms part of a trio of works, followed by a Q and A.
