Leaps and Bounds Music Festival brings the warmth that our thriving music community inevitably craves at this time of year, and provides continued support to local artists, venues, and businesses.
Come nurture and celebrate our unique music scene at The Tramway Hotel with Chikchika, Saturday 25 June.
Chikchika brings a new, deep, sonic groove to the Tramway for Leaps and Bounds Festival.
Chikchika (formerly Music Yared) features Haftu Reda and Anbessa Gebrehiwot originally from the Tigray region of Ethiopia with renowned Oromo singer, Muluu Baqqalaa. Singing about love, distance, separation and culture, their songs are accompanied by the traditional instruments for this unique, intimate performance.
With a focus on their East African cultural heritage, Chikchika embraces new sonic territories with a beautiful modesty, camaraderie and a deep groove.

📣 We’re stoked that Tramway’s Band Burgers are back after a long hiatus… excited to announce The Prize’s vegan tofu burger featuring Kettle Chilli Chips 🌶 and jalapeño aioli with coleslaw. These are apparently “the best chips” - The Prize. Gig to launch on Sunday.

To celebrate the launch of Tramway’s Feast For Freedom ASRC Fundraiser, Gordon Koang will be playing at the Tramway Hotel on Easter Monday 18 April. From 18-24 April the Tramway will be selling special dishes from recipes gifted by asylum seekers. All the profits from these dishes will be going to the ASRC. The good people at The Tramway Hotel in North Fitzroy have found an innovative way to Feast for Freedom🎉🥘
Inspired by our hero cooks' recipes, their chef Madhav has developed a few special dishes:
👉 Persian Jewelled Rice and Shirazi Salad Bowl with Hot Chilli Sauce
👉 Smokey Baba Ganoush with Flat Bread
👉 Sago Pudding.
They will be serving these dishes from Easter Monday to Sunday 24th April. It's delicious, exotic and vegetarian, and all profits from its sale will be donated to the ASRC 🧡
