A Whole Lot of Rope

A Whole Lot of Rope I use rope to create bowls, baskets, bags, hats, sun visors and a whole lot more. I also paint some of these items.

I use a variety of cotton and synthetic ropes, which are stitched and shaped on a sewing machine.

We were looking forward to going out with a bang this Sundayโ€ฆ and in a way, we still are โ€” just not on our terms. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

Sadly, Mother Nature has decided to whip up a storm this weekend, and rather than trying to recreate a scene from Mary Poppins, weโ€™ve made the difficult decision to cancel the final Mandjar Markets for the 2025โ€“2026 season on Sunday 31st May 2026. ๐Ÿ˜ญโ˜”

What an absolutely fabulous day we had at the Mandjar Markets Mandurah 21st Birthday celebration. There was great food, scrumptious birthday cake, kids activities, wonderful stallholders, Best Friends Musical Duo keeping us entertained and great weather, all on the beautiful Eastern Foreshore. But the highlight of the day was the visit from our wonderful Mayor, Mayor Amber Kearns and Councillor Daniel Wilkins - City of Mandurah. I would like to thank them both for taking time out from their busy schedule to share in the celebrations with us.

Looking forward to a wonderful day on the beautiful Eastern Foreshore

Iโ€™m looking forward to celebrating 21 years of the Mandjar Markets Mandurah tomorrow, and I keep thinking about what it actually takes to make a market possible. The early mornings, the late nights, the hours of creating, packing, setting up, and showing up. Every stallholder pours so much of themselves into their work, and itโ€™s pretty massive when you stop and really take that in.

To reach 21 years is something very special. It speaks to commitment, creativity, resilience, and a community that keeps choosing to come together.

Thereโ€™s a big day planned from 9am-3pm with plenty of food, fun, and connection, but at the heart of it all are the people who make the markets what they are. A huge thank you to every stallholder who has been part of this journey. Your dedication has shaped this space and helped it grow into something our community is genuinely proud of.

I canโ€™t wait to be there and celebrate with you all ๐Ÿ’›
