Hey everyone!
So the page has had a few people join so I’d just like to say hi, welcome you all, and go over a couple things.
So first, hi! And welcome! My name is Tom Seed, I’m 33 and played my first game of DnD at 14. After rediscovering my love of storytelling, I’ve come back to DM some games after taking a bit of a hiatus from DnD and the TTRPG world.
I realise that oftentimes, paying for a DM isn’t the norm, so I want to talk about who this service is for, why I charge for my services and the kinds of things you can expect at my tables.
In regards to why I charge, I’ve got room hire to cover. My games are run at Omega Games, inside their dedicated TTRPG room. Whilst not particularly expensive as these things go, it’s still a significant cost over multiple sessions.
I build many of the core campaign maps by hand. I build fully 3D, interactive maps from a combination of foam, plaster, copious amounts of hot glue and a high detail paint job to complete it. I build these at significant cost, taking anywhere upwards of 200 hours for each map build and hundreds of dollars in materials.
I custom build your campaigns to your preference. With access to over 50 official sourcebooks, and constantly getting more, we can build your character however you like, run your campaign in any setting, with any class.
I weave your characters backstory deep into the overall narrative, ensuring every player feels like the main character. This shifts the trajectory of campaigns significantly, making familiar settings or pre written adventures feel new and entirely homebrewed.
As for who this service is for; I’m aiming this service towards a few different demographics. I want to use it to welcome new players to the game who might not have a group and provide a safe table for them to join amongst similarly experienced players. I currently have 2 games that I run that are like this. None of the players knew each other at the start.
I also want to provide this service to established groups. Many DMs take on the role simply because without a DM, there’s no game. I want to give these forever DMs the opportunity to play alongside their friends without subbing out one of them to take on the role. This way your whole friend group can be players and you can leave the prep to me.
