This unique piece was made using 200 year old hand beaten wagon wheel rims. Hand forged over a timber fire by an early settler blacksmith, the hammer marks can be seen, particularly on the 'back' of the figures. Finding interesting old materials is part of what makes these one off pieces so remarkable. Lowden Metal Sculptors are a small group of retired Lowden residents who get together at a private work shed to play with old bits of metal to create amazing bespoke pieces. Some are decorative, some are useful - all are fun. Hours and hours go into making some pieces - others might be done in a morning. Our guru, Lensi, makes sure we don't make too many big mistakes, and provides us with his expertise and suggestions along our metal learning adventures. We use as much old, recycled metal 'junk' as possible. This weekend LMS will be at the Yabberup Hall selling some of the fun sculptures Lensi has made as part of the Preston Valley Artisan Trail including Sam the Smiling Croc. Sat & Sun 10am til 4pm

The Preston Valley Artisan Trail is on this coming weekend. Lowden Metal Sculptors will be at the Yabberup Hall featuring work created by Lensi, including an extraordinary dining suite like this one (Forest Dreaming) which includes a table and 6 chairs. The work in this setting will blow your mind!

We will be holding a stall at Preston Valley Artisan Trail on 1st & 2nd November with some of the amazing pieces featured on this page for sale. This will be a fabulous weekend of art in our valley. Put it in your diary!

A new piece just finished - the crocodile that wont bite your leg off. A really fun art piece, at 64cm long its probably too heavy to post but a beauty to purchase by a local or someone visiting. $125 ono

Anyone up for a game of CHESS? This amazing chess set is as original as you could get. Made with recycled bullets and other recycled bits and pieces, it is defintely one of a kind and will never be repeated. Chess board is on glass with mirrored squares and clear squares (the surface underneath shows through) to add extra originality to your game. A truely special set you would be proud to display in a prominent place in your home.

Bungarra! This gorgeous fella will stop everyone in their tracks when you stategically place him near your entry door or a special spot in the garden. Then they will laugh out loud when they realize its not going to race up their leg - or moving anywhere.
$195 - open to a fair offer (please dont waste time with a stupid price - theres many hours of work involved). Approx 40cm long. It is not a toy - it has sharp points (toes, tongue, etc). Can be posted at buyers cost, but it is quite heavy (about 3kg)
