My take on this year’s NAIDOC theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy 🎨✨

This artwork represents the unbreakable connection between our past, present, and future—honoring the wisdom of our Elders, the strength of our communities today, and the next generation who will carry our culture forward.

⚫️🟡🔴 On the right, the red, yellow, and black circles pay tribute to Aboriginal heritage, representing the land, the people, and the sun’s life-giving energy.

🟢⚪️🔵 On the left, the green and blue circles reflect Torres Strait Islander identity, symbolizing the deep connection to land, sea, and sky.

💧A flowing blue river through the center represents the continuous passage of knowledge, carrying cultural traditions forward.

👣 At the top, symbols of our Elders remind us of the wisdom, guidance, and strength that shape our journey.

👨‍👩‍👧 At the bottom, symbols of men, women, and children represent the next generation, standing on the foundation of those who came before them. They carry the responsibility of keeping our culture strong and ensuring that the legacy lives on.

'Land, Culture and Time.'
This artwork captures the deep connection between land, culture, and time. The rich, golden hues of the setting sun bathe the rugged terrain, symbolizing the enduring presence of Country. Silhouetted figures and native flora stand resilient against the horizon, representing the ancestors, stories, and spirit that continue to live within the land.

Every element—trees, hills, and animals —echoes the sacred relationship between people and place.
