🏳️‍⚧️ HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! 🏳️‍⚧️

Forgive us for yelling 🤭 ... We're excited to share that for the FIRST time in Logan, we're bringing pride to your neighbourhood 🏳️‍🌈 in more ways than one!!

Thanks to and SalvationArmy Communities for Children, Logan, we're making rainbow families feel welcome in everyday spaces.

For the entire second week of the June/July school holidays, our Pride in the Plaza program invites allies and rainbow families take part in a range of creative, family-friendly activities

✨️ Monday - Join ClownsInc in their Circus Play Space! 🎭
Hula-hoop, tumble, swirl ribbons, try poi and explore the joy of movement and performance. It’s all about having fun, being creative, and maybe even discovering a hidden talent or two

✨️Tuesday & Thursday - Join Ladybird for Drag Story Time! 📖
Fun, family-friendly and full of sparkle, 💖 this joyful session celebrates our diverse identities, ignites imaginations and builds understanding of each other.
Perfect for kids and the young at heart. Come along for stories, smiles and a little bit of glam!

✨️Tuesday - Rainbow Macrame Workshops! 🌈
Make a Macrame Rainbow Workshop in the colour of your pride flag with the creatives at Assorted Grains Inc! Display your rainbow proudly as a symbol of your pride and joy.

✨️Wednesday - Pride Button Badge Workshops ⚧️
Make your own button badge! It's sassy, silly and a lot of fun! Use pre-cut letters, stamps, colourful designs and plenty of pre-made templates. From pronouns to gender-pride - badges are a great way to share who you are.

✨Friday & Saturday - Sparkle Bar Rhinestone Workshop with ! 💎
Unleash your creativity at the Sparkle Bar the ultimate rhinestoning experience.
This fun and interactive 30-minute session, you’ll learn the basics of rhinestoning and transform an item into a glittering masterpiece—with guidance, laughs, and flair from Terry herself.

Pick a piece from our Thrifted Pride Rack to diamanté, or BYO piece of clothing or accessories to add your sparkle to! 👠

Make an upcycled pride postcard with us!

Artist Lucian .Flow guides us in adding lino prints, textures, words and illustrations to explore the fluidity, complexity and labels we inhabit as part of our identities.

Together, we acknowledge the labels we've taken on or discarded. Shedding the weight of expectations so we can live authentically.

What happens when you give people space to co-create?
When you *listen deeply* to their story and in doing so, *validate* their humanity?
What happens when their contributions are valued?

You build connections and joy.
You create space for humanity, not perfection
And you allow people to share hope.

This is what happens when we allow ourselves to create, not for the outcome.
But to allow ourselves to share a part of us that no words can express.

In a world that wants us fragmented and distracted, connection *is* rebellion.
Art and creativity is the practice.

Today and every day we commit to standing up for our fellow LGBTQIA+ community members.

Discrimination is one of the leading causes of poor mental health, substance abuse and suicidality among the LGBTIQA+ community.

Discrimination, assault, harrassment happen on a daily basis. This is

In every program, march, event and activity we run - we centre pride. 🏳️‍⚧️
We create opportunities for people to feel welcome. Valued. Seen. Heard.
And create space for self expression and connection.

Because we know how important it is.

So today on May 17 - we reaffirm our commitment to standing against discrimination.

It's us!! And supporting one of our favourite community orgs and the kindest people behind it Tammy and Athol from Formally Ever After Qld Inc.

As a Safe Space 🌈 they are an inclusive, affirming space for every student who doesn't feel comfortable or can't afford their own formal clothes.

We love supporting other safe community groups in Logan and as they go this one is one of the best 💖

Our next AGM is upon us!
Join us on Saturday, 30th May 2026 at 10:00 am,
Meeting Room 1, Logan Hyperdome Library.

At our AGM, you’ll learn what we’ve been up to over the last year, and what our plans are for the future of Logan arts.

Considering become a member? Then this is where you’ll learn if it’s right for you.

It’s also a great time for voting members to have their say by electing the new management committee to lead our org into the future.

Using your vote
In order to keep continuation of knowledge and expertise in our org, only have of our management committee are up for election at one time. This year the Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President are up for election.

Have your say on who leads Assorted Grains into the new year by making your nomination.

We welcome diverse voices from different cultures, backgrounds, identities and people with a disability, plus First Nations and Torres Strait Islander people’s as part of these roles.

Nominations for board positions must be received by Thurs 14th May 2026.
Proxy votes can be completed by 11:59pm Friday 29th May to be counted.
