Inspired by the pressed metal ceilings found in Federation period homes and public buildings throughout Australia. Lying on a bed staring up at these beautiful ceiling designs captures both the eye and the imagination.
A single quadrant is captured on this canvas with a wide and varied range of organic motifs. Heavily textured to emulate the raised designs of the original inspiration this work is beautiful and tactile.
Framed in a whitewash and gold floating frame, this work is created to hang in the diagonal.

SE COVE
A geometric landscape filled with colour and light. The deep rich red of the desert, spotted by green bushes make way for a bright sandy beach leading to the cool blue waters.
This abstract landscape allows the viewer to envisage this part of the Australian coastline while questioning the shapes and form that the mind perceives.
Created during lockdown this work came out of the desire for open spaces, the freedom to experience a cool breeze and open country.

Friend, places, lovers and all the experiences of life are pictured here in this colourful abstract painting. Each column contains numerous KNOTS, like tying a ribbon to a finger in order not to forget this piece explores the culmination of a life's experience. As the memories fill a space some are discarded dripping from our consciousness. We all tie those memories tighter in an attempt to sustain the emotions they contain.

Have you updated your relationship status?
The words scroll across the canvas in changing order overlaid by a large dripping heart representing societies demand that we share our love/desires with everyone. It explores the way social media has reduced love to a commodity to be shared and exploited. The words on this canvas contain no inflections and therefore no single interpretation. Whether it is a question offering up an answer or a statement in defense of privacy is for the viewer to explore.

UNTITLED
I've spent the last 2 weeks working on these pieces. Unlike my last piece these are crisp and clean. Inspired by science fiction representations of satellites. The light background allows the colour to show more vibrantly.
Not quite finished, I need to allow them to dry fully then varnish to seal and protect before framing in a Tasmanian oak floating frame. 60cm x 90cm

JACARANDA and POINCIANA 2 works depicting the flowering trees of spring.
Painted from the perspective of lying beneath these trees on a warm spring day, gazing through the branches with a blue sky beyond enjoying the cooling breeze beneath their shade.
Each of these geometric works represent the tones and colours of spring enjoyed in many parks and gardens throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
Each piece works independently to bring warmth and energy to any setting. Together they are mirror images of each other with cool fresh blues and violets of the JACARANDA on the left and the warm vibrant reds and oranges of the POINCIANA on the right, together creating a larger statement piece.
