AWESOME OPPORTUNITY!

Music Tasmania Youth Songwriting and Music Business Program is a free, two-day workshop for young musicians aged 16 to 25 who are actively writing songs and performing. Held during the school holidays in Launceston, the program supports emerging artists to refine their songwriting, build performance skills, and gain practical insight into the music industry.

The Launceston workshops will take place at the Windmill Hill Memorial Hall. Centrally located and close to Launceston CBD, Windmill Hill Memorial Hall is within a brief walking distance to Launceston Leisure & Aquatic Centre, Windmill Hill Reserve and East Launceston Bowls Club..

The program is delivered across two days, with a short break in between to allow time for participants to develop your songs. The second session will include opportunities to receive feedback and tailored advice from facilitators and peers.

Workshops:

Songwriting and Performing
β€’ Song structure
β€’ Key elements of songwriting
β€’ Overcoming creative blocks
β€’ Performance techniques

The Business of Being an Artist
β€’ Performing live: setting up, promoting, and playing gigs
β€’ Recording and releasing: working in studios, building an audience, creating a release plan, and distributing music

Delivered in partnership with The Push and supported by a Music Tasmania producer, each session includes hands-on workshops, group discussion, and space to share and grow your music.

Participants: 10 – 15

Supported by the Tasmanian Government Youth Arts Program and Launceston City Council
