Had the absolute pleasure of creating this piece for CleanCo Queensland to accompany their Reconciliation Action Plan.

We worked together to create an artwork that reflects their work and values as a company, and journey towards a clean energy future while also recognising the vital partnerships forged along the way with the traditional custodians and wider communities across Queensland.

You can check out the artwork story on CleanCo Queensland’s page and their RAP on the Reconciliation Australia register.

The start of a new project at Kuranda Kindy. A Djabugay language dictionary wall! This will be great for the kids to spot the Minya, Ma: and Bulmba (animals, plants and elements of Country). We will paint more week by week in line with what the kids are learning and want to learn. 🌈

Hello there 👋

Just a quick intro for those who have followed me since my last “hello” which was quite a while back. My name is Taha or Djarnda (dja:nda). I am an artist from Far North Queensland. I belong to the Djabugay people on my father’s side and am Chilean on my mother’s side.

I started off on instagram sharing my acrylic paintings but have since grown to share a few of my other creative passions including weaving and digital art. I also care greatly for and love sharing Djabugay language which has had a big influence on my art.

I’m also a mum, wife and Registered Nurse, although I’m currently taking time off from nursing to care for my own little ones at home.

And that’s me! Hello! 👋 ☺️ and thanks for following and sharing my art.

Now this is a first. My artwork features on an app!!… and for one of Cairns’ iconic tourist attractions Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

I had the pleasure of using the app when visiting Skyrail this week. It was nothing short of heartwarming to hear Djabugay language and stories being spoken to me through the app as I travelled over one of the world’s oldest rainforests.

A special mention to those who made this happen, Uncle Dennis for your inspiring work with Djabugay language and culture, the team at Djabugay Aboriginal Corporations that worked from start to finish on this and Skyrail for sharing this beautiful part of the world and its people 🌳🌏🌈

Go check out the Skyrail app now!

Hello 2025!!! What are we going to create this year??

I am super excited to also finally be able to share some completed pieces that have been waiting for 2025 to be released for your viewing. Stay tuned for those 👀

I am open for 2025 commissions. My services include painting, digital art and weaving. Please get in touch via email or DM if you would like to have a chat about bringing your vision to life through a beautiful piece of authentic art.

Lastly, I have some original canvas paintings and t-shirts available on my website- link in bio. Please have a browse.

I was absolutely delighted to receive this gift from Kuranda Kindy as a thanks for the Djabugay language classes I teach weekly to both kindy groups. I couldn’t pass on showing off this wonderful book they created that features the fun language games and songs we play each week. It has the special touch of photos of the kids enjoying the activities and their very own illustrations. I appreciate the work Ms Amanda, Ms Tracy and the staff do at the kindy to keep language alive and the enthusiasm that the kids and families bring each week. You all amaze me and make me proud with how much you have learned and the love you show for the first words of this Bulmba. 🌏🗣️❤️
