Earlier this month, Australian Yau Kung Mun had the opportunity to take part in the Fellowship Cup.

This competition gave our team another valuable chance to step onto the floor, test ourselves, learn from other strong teams, and continue growing through real competition experience.

We are proud of our performers for their effort, courage and commitment. The result is only one part of the journey — the bigger picture is the growth, the discipline and the experience gained along the way.

Thank you to the organisers, judges, volunteers and all participating teams for creating a meaningful competition platform for the lion dance community.

The journey continues.

Heading to the next competition soon.

Australian Yau Kung Mun is preparing for the 2026 Karnival Seni Tarian Singa Bandarraya Bersejarah in Melaka, Malaysia.

This next event will bring together lion dance teams, performers and cultural groups for another exciting celebration of lion dance, competition and cultural exchange.

After our recent international competition experience, the team is ready to keep learning, improving and pushing forward.

Every competition is another chance to grow, represent Australia, and carry our tradition with pride.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Melaka.

A proud moment for Australian Yau Kung Mun.

We are honoured to share this video from the First International Dragon and Lion Dance Award Ceremony 2026.

Sifu Master James Leung and Johnny Leung were grateful to attend and accept this recognition among so many respected Sifus, masters, teams and leaders from the international dragon and lion dance community.

This award recognises years of contribution to lion dance, dragon dance, Chinese martial arts and cultural education in Australia. It also reflects the support of our students, families, instructors, performers and community who have helped carry this journey forward.

For us, lion dance is more than performance. It is discipline, respect, teamwork, tradition and responsibility. It is about preserving culture while giving the next generation the chance to grow, lead and represent with pride.

Thank you to the organisers for this meaningful recognition, and congratulations to all award recipients.

Australian Yau Kung Mun will continue to promote lion dance, dragon dance and Chinese martial arts with humility, commitment and pride.
