Mark Barnas Visual Artist Visual Artist/muralist profile - Contact me with any enquiries. I am visual artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I'm 42 years of age.

I went to Bli Bli primary school and graduated at Nambour High. I went on to further some studies with an advanced diploma in visual arts majoring in multimedia at South Bank Institute of Tafe. I can use a variety of mediums to produce art and design although my preferred method is spray paint due to its dynamic nature and technical effects. I've developed my skills with spray paint and murals ove

r the last 28 years. Ive always loved art and found it to be like a third arm in life and eventually put it to use to earn income as my trade. I am a fully registered business with ABN, Public liability insurance, licenced for operation of EWP, and with a blue card for working with children. My services are for hire which are varied. I was contacted to paint a simple stage for a New Years Eve event called Nights in neverland.
I collaborated with the talented . She painted the section with two hands inter-twining energy and also Paddy Thurbon who made some wonderful string art for the wings of the stage.
We used Uv reactive materials to create a bright n happy psychadelic space.
It was a great event full of dance, love and swimming in the river.

It was a blast to be involved with Fully Mammoth s event at Mo's Desert Clubhouse on the weekend. I came up with some stage design, concept and effects. Using a large eagle to be mapped and projected onto by the great work of Ryan beat. I used a selection of material draped in abstract shapes wrinkled etc in the stage forground to lend toward the promotional material used. Using lighting and colour to produce bold yet warm inviting shades. The event was a heap of fun and it was nice to move from spray paint to create some different effects with different mediums.
Big thank you to Lee Carkeek for throwing a wicked event and having us involed.

I recently held a spray painting workshop for the HEX Sound System at a bass edm festival called
Students registered to attend prior to the event. We covered some basic skills required to work with the medium. Although the weather was testing, the students rose to the challenge and created some fun works. I'de like to thank all involved in the event that made it such a wonderful time.
My services are not limited to physical art. If you require artistic counselling or advice, teaching/tutoring anything really don't be afraid to ask.

Recently I attended/painted an event put on by my #1 paint supplier in Brisbane- Crush City .
It was a graffiti hip hop block party held in a council approved legal art spillway.
I'm often asked how I got into 'spraycan art' And my primary influence was the underground Hip Hop movement. A movement based on Unity in friendship and expression, dance music art.
I am so thankful for the opportunities Hip Hop culture has given me in my life and the connections I've made here in Australia and internationally.
My favourite Hip Hip motto is 'Keep it real'...Be authentic original and honest 👌

I was approached by the Wizards of Kingston crew to paint up some psychedelic decor for a recent event .
They were chasing two of these butterfly astronauts from an image they were using in promotional material for the event.
I used a variety of UV reactive colours to help achieve a dynamic festival atmosphere which thrives on colour lighting and energy.
They were proudly featured either side at the Jungle Juice Records stage.
I was fortunate to attend the festival in Kilkivan which was fantastic.

I recently finished a small mural off for a mates business @ Soundbox Live Studios in Nambour.
The business revolves around music and music making and recording it has helped many DJs n musos train learn and move into playing professionally in the public arena.
The mural was based off two friends that love a good boogie in a club festival setting. I wanted to really harness the effects of lights and colour highlights while capturing that urban street feel of graffiti art.
