The Spectrums Strike Gold with New Frontier Anthem ‘The Hipster’
Out of the rugged timber country of Jarrahdale ride The Spectrums, a band of time-traveling carnival drifters dropping their sharp new single, 'The Hipster'. Orchestrated by Chewy—a genius chihuahua turned mystical frontier guru—the trio blends old-timey grit with cosmic swagger. Stuart Nugent’s raw, weather-beaten vocals lead the charge, driven by Dave Nolan’s ironclad rhythm and Pat O'Connor’s sharp guitar lines. If your taste runs toward the gritty songwriting of Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, or Steve Earle, this saloon-shaking trio is your next obsession.
'The Hipster' spins a pithy, dust-kicking yarn about a pseudo-intellectual romantic interest that went absolutely nowhere. The tune captures the exact moment the protagonist realizes his quarry cares purely about looking avant-garde rather than showing any real-deal authenticity. It is a sharp, foot-stomping critique of style over substance, built for anyone who has ever seen through a counterfeit smile on the dusty trail.
