What does community mean to you?
We asked Hiro (aka ) this question, and his answer stayed with us.
“This artwork was created in 2021 in Lille, France.
The inspiration came from the wide range of wild flora I found growing around the wall. In nature, many different plants of varied forms, sizes, and colours co-exist. Each species adapts to its environment, some thrive in warmer areas, others in cooler or shaded places. Some remain rooted in one spot, while others disperse their seeds far away through wind or water. Together, they form an ever changing yet balanced ecosystem. This made me reflect on what community means. Like wild flora, a healthy community is formed when individuals, big and small, near and far, each with different roles, coexist and adapt in harmony. Through constant change, shifting positions, and shared cycles, the community sustains itself.”
Thank you, Hiro, for being a part of our community, working alongside two young local creatives and inviting them into your process so openly. Together you’ve left something truly special for our community to share ✨
