inaugural Artist Book Survey will open in the next suite of shows on 19 June 2026.
Curated in the Foyer Gallery from a call out to local and regional artists, Fold Stich Bind features work from 34 practitioners including well known artists: Caren Florance, Alex Asch, Basil Hall, byrd, Katarine Nix, Jo Hollier, Julie Bradley, Saskia Haalebos, Judy Bourke, Patsey Payne and John Pratt, Sharon Peoples and Sue Wood. Come and enjoy a staggering range of responses by artists specialising in book making as well as those for whom it is an element within their broader artistic repertoire.
In addition, Marissa McDowell and Us Mob Writers present Dyeing Words: From Soil to Silk in Gallery 2. This project, supported by Rechelle Turner, combines natural dyeing and screen-printed poetry on silk in an installation of silk banners with projections and soundscapes, to explore notions of belonging, and the continuation of language and culture.
In Gallery 1, Wallabindi and Harry’s Clarry present upcycled objects in an exploration of culture, sisterhood, motherhood, memories, trauma, resilience and love through the symbolism of circles, cycles and spirals. Join them at the opening to celebrate Sistahood, Circles, Cycles and Spirals.
Emerging artist, Leilani Dewis, opens Ngiaga (I/I Am) in the Landing Space. Her paintings draw on personal spiritual, cultural and social connections to trace the trajectory from birth through life, death and beyond, to explore ways in which all existence is inter-connected.
Everyone is welcome, so join to celebrate the opening of these new shows, at 6pm on the evening of Friday 19 July 2026 Tuggeranong Arts Centre.
