‘When this film opens I watch Olly (because I am an animal drawn to my own kind), then I watch the implacability of the hill, the flatness of the cleared land in the foreground and then the lines of the 200-year old settler building. To me, Olly and the building become just more ephemera in the landscape – and the more vulnerable elements thereof!’

‘Our work in recent years has been about tracing links between our nervous systems and oppressive and not-oppressive culture. Both tactics offer a transdisciplinary reading of the Australian curatorial team’s theme Unsettling Queenstown project. Their interest in exploring narrative, temporality and relationality to yield correspondingly rich architectural manifestations has strong connections with our approach.

Hi dance friends, Felicity Bott here, Artistic Director of Great Southern Dance. 👋

I'd love to invite you to join our Term 3 Dance Will Save The World classes, designed for one simple purpose: maximum dance joy. Think of it as a regular time-out in your week to move, laugh, connect, and recharge.

If you've been meaning to get back into dancing or have been looking for a joyful way to move your body and meet great people, now is the perfect time to join. We’re a couple of weeks into the term but it’s not too late to dance with us!

Our GrooveBox (street dance) or FreeFlow (contemporary dance) classes both encourage creativity, connection, musicality, and freedom of expression. They're suitable for a wide range of experience levels, with plenty of room to challenge yourself while keeping things welcoming, playful, and fun.

Classes are held on Tuesday nights at .tas (64 Warwick St, Hobart), Thursday nights and Friday mornings at SOHO ARTS (14 Weld St, South Hobart).

Join us for the remainder of Term 3 and enjoy a discounted rate for the classes you attend.

You can also try a casual class before you decide to continue, the cost of your casual class will be deducted from your full-term enrolment fee.

Week One was such a welcome return to our Dance Will Save The World classes this week - a return both to dancing and to the camaraderie of coming together. It was great to welcome back our wonderful class dancers from previous terms and meet a bunch of enthusiastic first-timers too.

Congrats everyone! We’ve rolled the ball on our third term….🪩🪩🪩

Yes!! A couple of class times have sold out, but there are still places available in these classes:

Friday 10am FreeFlow
Friday 11am FreeFlow II (intermediate)

This coming week is the ideal time to trial a class - get a jumpstart on it whilst the term is still young! Your casual class purchase will be deducted from term if you decide to dance on…
