Snakes & Ladders will be the name of the game at Makeshift Workshop: From the Margins with Raju Rage & me, TextaQueen. Expressions of interest are open until 10 June* for this 2 day workshop on 13 and 20 August at Arts House, Narrm, Wurundjeri Country.

If you are a token in the Art world, apply to come and co-create the ‘rules’ of a Snakes and Ladders-inspired game mapping barriers, breakthroughs, and creative survival strategies.

Looking forward to hosting Raju Rage as TheySwarm’s next artist-in-residence in July and August. We met in London in 2017, and have been communicating and collaborating since. Raju was one of the stars of my Bollywouldn’t series (above detail), which foretold this workshop and resource. I’ll be heading to Mexico City for a residency at Raju’s Studio 137 to continue our collaboration.

Access Notes
This is an in-person workshop involving tokens, not the human kind but moved by hosts, on an oversized game board on the floor. This workshop contains dialogue, movement, and writing/drawing activities. There will be breaks and refreshments
outside of workshop space.

N95 Masks will be provided and required to be worn. This workshop space has portable air purifiers and natural sunlight. A range of supportive seating is available.

Auslan interpreting is available on request. An Access Guide will be available prior to the workshop.
