Using flash cards and ephemera scrappys to preserve old illustrations and brooch designs and make some journal cards for this large art journal. The general theme for this spread is apples and worms (inspiration taken from an illustration I did for RAW Showcase, back in 2014) 🍎🪱

Using up old illustration drafts and sketches is a great way of finding charming ephemera for your journal. The imperfections and wobbles bring so much character to the page, especially when paired with crisp images from book pages or magazines. Plus, you can finally find a home for some of those random pieces of paper we all have tucked away! ⛴️

I'm adding this sweet little hand sewn swatch, that was previously used as a pin badge design in my shop, to my 'Three Colours' Art Journal. I'm so enjoying including personal and eclectic ephemera to this journal- and finding forever home for lots of cherished pieces in the process.

I'm still working away in my 'Three Colours' Art Journal and last night I started on this cute nautical spread. The beach, lighthouses and fishing have always been a huge part of my life (especially as a child), so I wanted to include a little ode to the seaside in this journal 🏖️
Work is keeping me very busy at the moment, but I'm hoping to carve out some time for long and short videos again very soon! It's nice to have this journal to play in, even in brief moments at a time.
What are you working on at the moment? Are you doing any journaling challenges or making something special? 📚

A fun little carousel of an interactive journal page in my 2024 Drawlloween Journal. The prompt was 'Frankenstein' and I knew that I wanted to include lots of hand stitching and medical images in this spread. I pulled out my 90s reprint of Gray's Anatomy and set about finding images to create a body, fussy cut and mounted them on heavy paper stock. Then I used a blanket stitch to sew him together and folded all the appendages into a daisy decorated belly band to keep him all tucked into the confines of the page. 🪡

Adding some delicious mixed media to the 'Three Colours' Art Journal. It's always fun to try something new and see if the crazy idea you've just had will actually work 🤞

A spread I did in my 2024 Drawlloween Journal, with the Day 25 prompt "Hell Hound".
This page was created by layering collage images over black paper and a gentle weaving of book page and brown note paper. I hand drew and cut out the little flames.
I'm still pondering the concept for this year's Drawlloween Journal - October will be here before we know it!

I've been yearning to get back into this journal and work in it's pages again 🫀

Working on a sweet little tip in for the 'Three Colours Art Journal'. In this spread I used lots of scrumptious mixed media; dried pressed flowers, handmade doily stickers, paint, washi tape, stickers and a spot of mark making! 🍀🐞
