Harry M. Miller said "I always found him to be a soft, gentle guy, very sharp, but soft. If you asked him for a favour he'd do it, and because he was so honorable in his behaviour with me, you see a guy in a different light I suppose."

Lee certainly had close friends in Alan Heffernan, Max Moore, Johnny O'Keefe and Harry M. Miller.
Lee Gordon added to Australian culture and Australians.

The Harlem Globetrotters first tour of Australia 1954, was credited in popularizing basketball in Australia. Like Roller Derby Australia Lee Gordon saw an opportunity to bring American entertainments to Australia.
Abe Saperstein organised this tour who founded the Harlem Globe trotters in Chicago all those years ago and they are still going SO strong, entertaining around the world.

Sammy Davis Jr. was the greatest performer. The amount of skills he was able to perfect and deliver with confidence was nothing short of amazing.

I love seeing Big Shows The Lee Gordon Years - legacy remains all over Australia.
The first 1955 Roller Derby, was very competitive. Fights broke out amongst the all female American teams.
The press wasn't interested and so it was difficult to drum up public interest.
It was a slow start but the visionary Lee created something that was to last and become national from its Sydney start.

I would love Qantas to do an Entertainers display at the Founders museum.
When the boom went bust on the rollercoaster that was the Big Shows ride, it was vital to have the backing of Airlines to literally keep the show on the road or runway as the case may be.

Here is a Roulette record with its eye-catching design.
Big Shows had the subsidiary of the US company. I think this was launched before the Leedon label.
