Australian Zoos: Revealing a Life Behind Bars 🐒
In this confronting investigation, Farm Transparency Project exposes the hidden reality of animals trapped in zoos, aquariums, and animal attractions across Australia.
From animals living in isolation and deprivation, to the myth of “conservation” being used to justify captivity — this campaign reveals what the public isn’t meant to see.
Investigators documented:
• Animals bred in captivity who are not endangered
• Big cats pacing endlessly in enclosures, showing clear signs of distress 💔
• Birds confined to cages too small to fly
• Penguins swimming in small, concrete pools
• Dolphins at Sea World swimming in circles in shallow tanks
• A polar bear pacing under the harsh Australian sun
This is not education. This is not conservation.
This is confinement.
Captivity isn’t cute.
What you can do:
• Stop supporting zoos and marine parks
• Support genuine conservation organisations protecting animals in the wild
• Visit true sanctuaries that prioritise rescue and rehabilitation
• Educate yourself and others through ethical means
• Refuse “animal experiences” like koala cuddling or dolphin encounters
