“When was the last time you did a show?”
“December last year.” 😂

Well… 8 months later, here we are 🙌🏼

Since stepping away from running a dance group and shifting our focus to teaching, our little dance world has looked pretty different… mostly classes, workshops and us just having fun with it again.

So there’s something really nice about being able to step into a space where we’re simply dancers/drummers. No running the group, no organising the show… we just turn up, learn, practice and perform 😂🙌🏼

And honestly, one of the coolest parts has been becoming students again. Learning from different people, experiencing different styles and being reminded that no matter how long you’ve been dancing, there’s always something new to learn. 🥹

Last night was our first show performing with Te Moana Nui and it felt sooo good to be back on that side of things!

A big Meitaki Ma’ata to the Te Moana Nui family for welcoming us into your space, allowing us to learn alongside you and trusting us to share a little of what you guys do 🤍

Te Moana Nui’s Dance Group, their mahi and their show! We’re just grateful we got to be part of it. 🙌🏼

Safe to say… we had fun 😂

Going through some old footage and look what I found 🥹🤍 A little throwback to Te Maeva Nui 2025.

I was so fortunate to be able to sit in and capture Akatokamanava Enua rehearsing their Kapa Rima before taking it to the stage.

There’s something so beautiful about seeing a performance before it reaches the stage… the practices, the corrections, the repetition and all the work that goes into bringing it together. And what an incredible performance this became 🙌🏼✨
