Seven Sisters 2026 - Open Mic Crowd Favourite!

Tia had the entire Chai tent captivated with her quick wit, relatable storytelling, and humour. We all absolutely loved her!

Bio:
Ms Tia Maria was named after a 1970s liqueur, and just like her namesake, she is smooth, potent, and a little is never enough!

Her repertoire has been crafted from years of youthful wild abandon. She sings songs of female empowerment forged in the flame of her own eclectic life experience.

With songs such as “The Panadeine Forte Song”, “I Love Bush”, “All My Friends are Leaving Marriage” and “How Woo Woo are You You”, Tia Maria takes the audience on a journey of internet dating, body dysmorphia and her life as a self-confessed “Weirdo”, promoting self- reflection and connection through laughter.

Tia Maria has performed at various International Women’s Day events, the Wise Women Gathering, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival, Melbourne Ukulele Festival, Peats Ridge Festival, IronFest, Winter Magic Festival, and many charity events, especially those with a women’s focus.

A final deep thank you to my family

These are the people whose presence sits quietly beneath it all…the ones who hold, support, and believe, often without needing to be seen.

My parents, Angela and Paul, without your support and belief in me, none of this would have been possible for the thousands of women who have gathered.

You instilled in me the belief that anything is possible with hard work and persistence.
You showed me what strength and determination look like and encouraged me to keep stretching beyond what I thought I was capable of.

You walked beside me through it all,
through the intensity of COVID, financial pressure, planning permits, site relocation, personal challenges, and moments of success.

Dad, you were quite literally in the trenches with me…on the tractors, laying pipes, installing taps,
building what needed to be built, again and again.

Mum, you held me in all the ways only a mother can, with care, steadiness, and unwavering support behind the scenes.

Adam, my brother thank you for the many hours spent helping design and shape the land
working through site layouts, problem-solving, and bringing vision into form.

I know you all carried the weight…the concern, the protectiveness,
holding the risk of your daughter’s dreams as if they were your own.

And to my godmother Stella Jo Clifford,
thank you for hearing my dream in its earliest form, for offering your land for the very first gathering, and for helping me shape that first vision into something real.

To my godmothers Karen and Kym, and my cousins, thank you for the working bees, the tree planting, the early mornings and long days at the gates.

This was never something I built alone.

What has been created has come from the strength of the community around me,
from the foundations that were laid long before the first woman arrived at the gates.

And from that…a community of tens of thousands women was able to grow and flourish.

Thank you!!! ...and thankfully, due to the new owner Melanie, this community can continue to grow and strengthen for future generations of women to come.

I look forward to watching the rebirth of a new chapter of Seven Sisters.

Another special acknowledgment to Mary Soderiou, our presenter manager, ceremonialist and friend, who has journeyed with me for all 15 years of the Festival. From my naive and enthusiastic 23-year-old girl into the wiser woman I am today, you have seen both the festival and myself transform through challenge, joy and heartbreak.

You have been there for every single event. From the early days, when I was still learning, still finding my way,
when I said 'yes' to almost anyone before I understood structure, recruitment, or what was truly needed..
and somehow, in that, I was met with you. And what I received was far beyond anything I could have known to ask for.

Your wisdom, your strength, your freedom, your no-bullsh*t clarity…
you modelled the Wise, Wild Woman for me in ways that shaped who I’ve become and through the festival you have touched thousands of hearts beyond mine. You have crafted brilliant workshop programs, supported staff and presenters, held ceremonies that bought people back to their humanness, heart and center.
You have helped me uncover my strength when I was shakey, reflected truths when I was clouded and shared in creative visioning and joy

Thank you for celebrating with me, crying with me, and standing beside me through moments most will never know or understand. You are a natural protector, mentor, muse & guide.

Your care, love, and guidance have been a constant thread through it all. And to have you there at the end… supporting the ceremony and the handover to Mel, was a gift I will never forget. It was such a special moment.

Thank you for the past 15 years, for all that you are, and all you’ve shared with Seven Sisters and with me. Your presence has shaped so much of this journey.

A very special acknowledgment to my partner and Event Manager, Lou Pellegrino
whose presence in my life has been one of the greatest gifts this festival has given me…
and one I now gratefully get to carry forward, beyond this chapter. 🥰

Lou, I can’t thank you enough for your support, patience, and deep care.

So much of what you have held is unknown to many ...the long hours, the quiet problem-solving, the physical work after the crowds have gone…from shovelling and turning compost with me, to hosting workdays, collecting items from marketplace, crafting thoughtful and diplomatic communication, and standing beside me through countless hard decisions.

You have held this event not just operationally, but with intention and care, as you have me.

As an Event Manager, you are exceptional.
Your integrity, focus, steadiness, and attention to detail have elevated this festival in ways that are deeply felt and seen.
You brought a level of organisation and “smoothness” to something inherently complex
and helped shape a team and structure that could truly hold it. Seven Sisters wouldn't have gotten to what it is, without you.

It has been such a gift to journey the past four years of this festival with you.
I have learnt so much alongside you, and shared so many moments both big and small and many we will only understand.

You are an incredible leader, with such capacity, foresight, and heart.

And beyond all of this… I have simply loved working with you, and living life with you.

I feel so grateful to be stepping into the next chapter together and am excited for what our future holds.
