Let me introduce you to Michael Feast.

Michael has been right alongside me from the beginning as a co-founder of Gawler Community Theatre, working on the publicity and promotion of our community theatre group, talking to Gawler Council, State and Federal government MPs, businesses, visitors and people in and around the Gawler Community through his busking every week in Murray Street.

It was most remiss of me to not formally introduce him at our first meeting. Michael wasn't able to attend the full meeting as he was busy with parenting duties (thanks for that, too).

Michael is looking forward to getting to know you all and to continuing to promote and publicise Gawler Community Theatre throughout the Gawler and wider theatre community of South Australia. Currently co-host of "Another Openin' Another Show the musical theatre podcast", he has vast experience in publicity, promotion, front of house management, backstage crew and as a theatre critic.

Michael also possesses a fine tenor voice which has served him well in his many years in community theatre.

We'll be working on the constitution, practicalities and a plan for the first year.

If you couldn't make it to the first gathering and haven't yet been in contact, you are most welcome to ask for further information.

The email account has been reported for spamming and, therefore, suspended. (We sent a group email to 20+ people, so a bot may have done it.)

If you received an email last night from [email protected], could you please send us a message through Facebook with your answer.

The email said that we have reached a shortlist of two dates:
Thursday, 12 March at 7.00 pm
OR
Sunday, 15 March at 2.00 pm.

Once a majority is reached, I can then confirm which venue it is.

I apologise for the Doodle experiment. It was recommended as user friendly and patently wasn't. That's why I changed it to a straightforward email.
Hope this clears things up for you.

Don't know how long it will take to reinstate the account.

Wow!

In three weeks we have received 41 responses.

Thanks everybody, that's very heartening.

The people who've responded and provided contact details will receive an invitation to the first meeting (date and time yet to be decided).

The first meeting will be some time this fortnight. Keep your eyes peeled. (Don't forget to fill in the Doodle calendar, sorry it's not as user-friendly as I'd been led to believe)

Or maybe you’re passionate about promotions, publicity and supporting your local community?

A community-led group is looking to explore bringing community theatre back to Gawler — and they’re seeking expressions of interest from anyone who’d like to be involved.

👉 Please note: This initiative is not run by Town of Gawler Council. Council is simply helping share the opportunity on behalf of the community.

Whether you’re experienced or keen to learn, your interest is welcome. If enough people come forward, a steering committee will be formed, and a meeting will be announced.
