BangON

A massive congratulations to our dear friend Tammy Haider Music on the release of her second solo album, Castrati Meow.

Partly recorded at the legendary Sing Sing Studios by Matt Voigt (think CAT POWER’s iconic Moonpix), as well as Dragon Peace Lodge, the album unites Stuart Prentice, Marcel Borrack, Amanda Kerr and Andrew Papadopoulos in full creative collaboration, bringing Tammy’s deeply felt vision beautifully to life.

Having had the unbelievable joy of watching Tammy perform - both solo and with her road-worn outfit royalchord - across three continents and two decades, we count ourselves lucky to have her now based in regional Victoria. Here’s hoping for many more shows from this extraordinary underground talent.

This long weekend, do yourself a favour: carve out a quiet moment, press play on Castrati Meow, and let Tammy remind you that life truly can be beautiful.

Castrati Meow is out now on Dragon Sun Records - listen online or grab a copy on CD or vinyl via Bandcamp or your local record store.

For bookings and enquiries, connect with Tammy via the link in comments.

We are devastated by the loss of our beloved friend, supporter, and regular BangON performer, Rossco Harvey.

Rossco passed away suddenly last weekend, and his untimely departure has left our community in shock and deep sadness.

If you knew Rossco, and to know him was to love him, please join us at The Old Bar on Sunday, May 4th, to celebrate what would have been old mates 46th birthday.

If you’d like to perform or share a memory in his honour, please reach out to Joel via the event link (in the comments).

Rest easy, Rossco. You were truly one of a kind, and we miss you more than words can say xo4evz

Happy Belated 2023 from BangON!

LOVED our events at Mamma Chen's last year, thanks to all involved.

Hopefully we'll be back for a few this year, but mainly posting this to try and reclaim the Page from Facebook purgutory!

Fingers crossed this works!

TWELVE YEARS AGO tomorrow BangON launched at the PB/The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar, and oh, what a ride it’s been!

de Campo dalliances was already in full swing with a few MS doc “art” posters, some incredible performers and poster printing (unknowingly) courtesy of Australia Post.

The gist shifted from event celebrations to a more curated line up with a desire to connect likeminded people through music and to create a community.

Artwork for the majority of the (biggest) run of BangON was by the talented AF Bren Luke - Art / Illustration, for which my appreciation continues to grow as framed art moves with me from home to home.

We’ve (BangON) found homes at the (now) Last Chance, The Townie, The Night Heron and now Mamma Chen's.

And I, Olivia, send a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible musicians who have graced the stage (or lack there of sometimes) to play a BangON event and every single one of you who has shown up.

You’re here, part of the family forever!!
(not a threat or a warning, just a fact!)

The next BangON will be taking place on Friday September 30th and I hope to see you there!

Signing off personally for the first time ever,
