Yesterday, members of the Wimmera Steampunk Festival committee participated in an events boot camp organised by the Australian Centre for Regional Events, involving the four councils of Horsham, Hindmarsh, Yarriambiack, and West Wimmera. We gained valuable insights that will enhance the event.

Step into something different this winter, while supporting the restoration of the Snowy Rail Bridge.

For one evening only, we'll transform the bridge into a striking steampunk-inspired setting of firelight, music and heritage atmosphere.

The Snowy Steampunk Soirée, part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival, invites you to wander beneath the historic trestles as lanterns glow and the space comes alive with vintage-industrial charm and eclectic local music.

Enjoy a relaxed evening with Gippsland beer and wine, warming winter drinks, and a selection of hot fireside fare. Take your time to explore, connect, and soak up the unique setting.

Dressing up is welcome but not essential — a coat, a hat, or simply your curiosity will suit the occasion perfectly.

Shuttle buses from Orbost make getting there easy, so you can settle in and enjoy the night.

With limited tickets available, this is an intimate event that offers both atmosphere and purpose

Farewell, Oamaru. The steampunk festival was truly memorable. Last night, we dined at the historic wool store amidst pomp, ceremony, and aircraft racing.

The Steampunk HQ in Oamaru is a one-of-a-kind interactive museum and art gallery housed in an 1883 stone building, showcasing retro-futuristic sci-fi artwork, large recycled-metal sculptures, and a steam-powered locomotive that shoots flames.
