It’s always a big moment when one of the true greats of the rodeo world steps into the arena to call time on a legendary career.
On Saturday, 12th September, Darwin River Rodeo will host a special farewell to one of modern Australian rodeo's finest bovine athletes.

#94 ANNIHILATION (2013)
Bred by Jason Hall in South East Queensland (out of a Pat Speedy cow by a Bang Tang bull).
Annihilation worked his way up from NRA junior ranks to become one of the most feared bucking bulls on the PBR circuit.
Purchased off Kerry Hall by Darren Brandenburg in 2018, he toured the PBR, APRA, and major Queensland rodeos before heading north to the Top End in early 2024.

💥 2018 PBRA Grand Finals: Cliff Richardson rode him for 87.75 pts (Round 4 win)
🏆 2019 Mt Isa PBR: Jay Borghero posted a massive 89.5 pts to win the Championship Round
🔥 2021 PBR Grand Finals: Closed out his elite PBR career in Townsville bucking off Baily Woodard and Lane Howlett.
Annihilation loves the Territory lifestyle, going unridden in his entire first Top End season. It took a spectacular 85-point ride from Toby Daley right here at Darwin River in mid 2025 to prove the champ could be covered.
He might now have lost a touch of his younger speed, but he’s never lost his heart or his crowd-pleasing style.
On September 12th, we are going to give this bovine athlete the hero’s send-off he deserves as he officially retires to live out his best life in a quiet paddock with a few lady friends.
