A Sydney council’s move to make English the primary language on shopfront signage has sparked a heated debate. 🇦🇺

Supporters say English should be clearly displayed and easy to understand across Australian businesses. Others argue shop owners should have the freedom to use languages that reflect their customers and communities.

What do YOU think — do you support the crackdown?

ONE NATION SENATORS TURN THEIR BACKS DURING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY IN PARLIAMENT 🇦🇺

Three One Nation senators turned their backs during the Acknowledgement of Country as Parliament returned for the spring sittings.

Queensland Senator Malcolm Roberts, NSW Senator Sean Bell and WA Senator Tyron Whitten faced away while Deputy Senate President Slade Brockman delivered the Acknowledgement of Country in the Senate chamber.

The three senators then turned back around when proceedings moved to the Lord’s Prayer.

Each Senate sitting day begins with an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by the Lord’s Prayer before parliamentary business starts.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson was not in the chamber at the time.

The move comes after Hanson said last week that, if she became prime minister, she would scrap Welcome to Country ceremonies in schools, government departments and at official events.

What do you think of the senators’ protest? 🇦🇺
