🔗 www.carysmartinceramics.com Carys Martin is an accomplished artist and experienced ceramicist, residing in the Redlands area of Queensland, Australia. With a solid background in print design and making, Carys has a unique eye for surface decoration which is evident in her ceramics. Working in ceramics since 2008, Carys has

honed her skill to create practical, functional everyday art to one-off statement pieces that are now sought after worldwide. Inspiration comes from nature, as well as her childhood in Cumbria, an area stepped in folklore and ritual. With a BA (Hons) Arts Degree, Carys has studied in the UK and America and exhibited in both these countries, as well as Australia. She continues to work in open exhibitions and galleries and is stocked in stores throughout Australia and overseas. Wanting to share her passion for ceramics, Carys began teaching classes and workshops at her studio in 2020. She now runs over fifty workshops a year, as well as weekly pottery classes, and attends several markets and exhibitions. Her main commitment continues to be crafting beautiful, handmade ceramic pieces that are unique and made with love. Her belief is to surround yourself with things that bring joy, have worth, hold meaning, soul and tell a story. The Whispers From The Woods oracle deck was created in a calling to work upon a family project. Three generations of family come together, combining their unique talents and creativity to bring you a collection of oracle cards with an accompanying book and a online Oracle App. Marleen Morgans (Carys's Mum) brings her incredible talent as an experienced artist, Jamie Martin (Carys's son) delivers seamless tech wizardry enabling the cards to come to life on screen and Carys Martin is the artistic visionary, writer and mastermind of the project. Drawing on a lifetime of creativity and ancestral wisdom, Carys, Marleen and Jamie have created Whispers From The Woods to bring you a touch of this very special magic. Access your daily dose of guidance, full of ancestorial Celtic wisdom, folklore and folktales. These oracle cards help you to tap into your intuition and raise your self awareness, whilst connecting you to nature and the ancient lands of our Celtic forefathers.

Looking back, one of the things I am most proud of is not the products I've created, the classes I've taught, or the businesses I've built.

It's the communities.

Over the years I have been fortunate to create spaces where people come together to learn, share, create, grow and support one another. Places where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and personal growth is honoured.

I see it every week in the studio. People arrive for a pottery class and leave with new friendships. They discover new skills, new confidence and often a deeper connection to themselves.

For some time now, I've been quietly working on a project inspired by that same spirit.

A space for reflection.
A space for creativity.
A space to reconnect with your own wisdom.

It's called The Stone Circle.

There is still much to do, but it feels like the right time to begin sharing a little of what has been growing behind the scenes.

More soon.

There are seasons in life when growth comes from learning something new.

And there are seasons when growth comes from the people around us.

The friend who encourages you.
The teacher who shares their knowledge.
The community that reminds you who you are when you've forgotten.
The conversations that arrive at exactly the right moment.

I've always believed that we are shaped by the circles we keep.

Not just our families, but the people we choose to gather with. The people who inspire us, challenge us, support us and celebrate our successes alongside us.

Today feels like a good day to appreciate those connections.

Who are the people in your circle that have helped shape the person you are becoming?

Some projects arrive quickly.

Others take root and grow quietly over many seasons.

For the past few years I have been immersed in the folklore, symbolism, traditional uses and stories of the plants that have grown alongside us for generations. Alongside my mum, Marleen, we've been bringing those stories to life through words and paintings.

This week, the sample copy of Keepers of the Wild Lore is at the printers.

It's always a mixture of excitement, anticipation and nerves at this stage.

After years of work, the first copy is finally on its way.

I've spent the last few weeks giving the website a refresh.

New pottery has been added, workshop dates have been updated, and some beautiful new oracle deck holders and ritual objects are now online.

It's also been an opportunity to reflect on how I want to create moving forward.

For many years I've felt the pressure to keep favourite pieces available, revisit old designs and maintain a growing catalogue of work. While there will always be some pieces that remain part of my collection, I'm increasingly drawn to creating in response to the seasons and allowing my work to evolve naturally.

This means you'll begin to see more limited-edition collections, pieces that arrive for a moment in time and then make way for whatever wishes to emerge next.

As an artist, there is something incredibly freeing about allowing the wheel to turn rather than continually looking backwards.

If there is a piece you've had your eye on for a while, now might be the time to make it yours. Some designs and collections may quietly disappear as I make space for this next chapter.

Hello and welcome 🌿

If we've recently connected through , I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Carys - artist, teacher, writer, potter, and lover of folklore, nature and creativity.

I run a creative studio on the Redlands Coast, where we offer pottery classes, wheel throwing experiences, workshops and creative events designed to help people learn new skills, connect with others and reconnect with their creative spark.

Alongside the studio, I've spent the last few years creating oracle decks inspired by folklore, ancestral wisdom, plant lore and our relationship with the natural world. I'm also quietly building The Stone Circle - a community centred around creativity, reflection, intuition and personal growth.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: that we all carry an innate wisdom, but modern life often pulls us away from it. Creativity, nature, story and community help us find our way back. They reconnect us to ourselves, to each other, and to the ancestral threads that continue to weave through our lives today.

Whether you're here for pottery, folklore, oracle cards or simple curiosity, I'm so glad you're here.

Looking for something different to do with friends?

Swap the coffee catch-up for a pottery wheel and spend a couple of hours laughing, creating and trying something completely new together.

Our wheel throwing taster classes are all about having a go. No experience needed, no pressure to be perfect - just clay, good company and a lot of fun.

You'll be surprised how quickly two hours flies by when you're sitting at the wheel, cheering each other on and getting thoroughly covered in clay.

Perfect for friends, partners, family members or anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience to share.
