Thank you, , for matching my creation with just the right person. It is an absolute honor to have my work in such a beautiful gallery.

A little history:
The Glass:
All the glass used is reclaimed vintage glass. The green, amber, and plum came from a period window around Grafton, which unfortunately had been smashed in one of our recent summer storms and was irreparable. The glass is very old, and this particular pattern and style dates somewhere between 1850 and 1890.

I am uncertain about the clear glass, as it has been in my stash for well over 30 years, but I have an inkling it came out of my grandmother's house, so we are looking at around the 1950s?

Chain and Crystals:
Are modern-made.

Pattern:
The pattern is by . She designed the pattern to be 9 inches in height, but I liked the whimsy of a smaller piece.

Size:
Top of glass to bottom of glass, not including chain, is 12.5 cm.

As an RFS family for well over 20 years and collectively close to 50 years' experience, I know very well the sacrifices that are made personally: the missing dinners and events, the callouts all through the night for fires and MVAs, the worry for a loved one and even strangers, the aftermath of any kind of loss, and of course, the terrible mental toll that leaves you scarred.

Most of those sacrifices are unpaid volunteer work, just because the love of our community and those in it are so very precious to us.

So I re-share this post in respect and celebration for any and all of our emergency heroes past and present.
