Wangullay is a proud Kuku Djungan and Kuku Yalanji woman who grew up in Yarrabah, with family connections stretching from Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre), throughout Cape York and across to Ngukurr in the Northern Territory.

A passionate creative since childhood, Wangullay uses art as a way to share stories, culture and connection through her unique creations.

The Creator of BROSISCUS is Jayde Geia a Gunggandji, Bwgcolman and Mualgal Woman.

BROSISCUS is a Gold, Silver and Diamond jewellery company. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dreamed and owned.

BROSISCUS is one of the deadly First Nations artists that will be showcasing this weekend.

We are so excited to announce that we will have the deadly UREMBO CRAFTS at the WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL MOB MARKETS MARKETPLACE.

The founder of Urembo Crafts is Joan Tanui,an African woman from Kenya and a passionate entrepreneur who uses her creativity to empower her community.

Her handmade African-inspired items are not only beautiful but also the business supports more than 60 local artisans in Kenya,Uganda and Rwanda.

Each piece is unique and tells a story that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Africa.

UREMBO CRAFTS is one of the deadly Global Indigenous artists that will be showcasing at the Whichway Film Festival.

📣WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL X MOB MARKETS MARKET PLACE BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 📣

We are so excited to announce that we will have the deadly ISAAK ART at the WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL MOB MARKETS MARKETPLACE

Isaak Blake is 12 year old Kuku Yalanji artist living and thriving on stunning Gimuy Walubara Yidjnji country.

Isaak is grateful for the traditional owners on the land he lives on as they are the stewards and caretakers of this land on behalf of our Almighty Creator. He promises to walk softly and gently on this land, the mountains, the rivers, the creeks, the mangroves, the saltwater and the sacred sites here on country.

His vibrant acrylic artwork is inspired by the colourful creation he sees and the beautiful places he visits.

Not only is Isaak an aspiring artist but he is also learning financial literacy, discovering art mediums, reclaiming his culture through guidance from his ancestors, and building his skills set through running his own business.

Isaak wants to share his beautiful gift with the world and is grateful for all that the journey is teaching him as he realises his purpose to focus on and celebrate the beauty that surrounds him.

📣WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL X MOB MARKETS MARKET PLACE BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 📣

We are so excited to announce that we will have the deadly KGARI 3 SISTERS at the WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL MOB MARKETS MARKETPLACE

Kgari 3 Sisters is a Cairns-based business owned by Susan Reys and Hendrick Fourmile. Hendrick is a traditional owner of Cairns and a Gimuy Walubara Yidinji elder, while Susan, a Badtjala woman from Fraser Island (Kgari), is also descended from the Guugu Yimithirr Dharrpa Warra clan of Cape York. Susan’s Aboriginal name is Duliny.

Founded in 2014 upon Susan’s return to her homeland, Kgari 3 Sisters has grown to offer a wide range of handmade products, including home décor and artworks, as well as services to the Cairns community. They also have a stall every Sunday at Port Douglas Markets, where they love connecting with customers face-to-face.

Susan’s art, particularly in acrylics, explores her cultural stories and deep connection to country, blending traditional and modern techniques. She also creates with clay, crafting her own glazes and carving unique design motifs into each piece. Her work reflects an intuitive process, combining color and design to bring stories to life.

Beyond creating beautiful art, the core mission of Kgari 3 Sisters is to educate and share Aboriginal culture, fostering stronger community relationships. They offer workshops in Cairns for schools, focusing on education and history, along with hands-on activities in painting and ceramics. Additionally, they provide full-day workshops for school educators and corporate groups.

We are so excited to announce that we will have the deadly Bama Bandjil Bulurru at the WHICHWAY FILM FESTIVAL MOB MARKETS MARKETPLACE

Bama: people. Bandjil: woman. Bulurru: dreamtime, story time, creation, story waters. We are a collective group of Djabugay women bringing our art together for a mutual purpose.  

Bama Bandjil Bulurru was created to deliver truth telling and sharing culture and language through our art.  

The reviving of Djabugay stories and history.  This is done through our paintings, shirt design, earrings, and other pieces of art.

We are women in business, breaking cycles and creating generational wealth.

This was a dream of Natashas a few years back and 2024 has seen that slowly, but surely, come to life.
